151 Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Great-Great-Grandfather, Brother and Friend left this life after a short struggle with cancer in his home with his family at his side on April 9, 2011. He was born on June 7, 1928ooele where was raised. He served in the United States Navy after high school. He worked at Tooele Army Depot and retired after 38 yrs. Ned was a fun loving and active man. He loved line dancing and would DJ for the Senior citizens. He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 36 yrs Winona Mary (Dalton) Garcia. Daughter Karma Quintana and son Mark (Jenny) Garcia from prior marriage to Ilene Walk (divorced). Survived also by Gay (Jim) McGonegal, Lenna (Rich) Learned, Kent (Lila) Jones, Jake (Kathline) Jones, Cleve Jones, Brothers J. Don (Nona) Garcia, Vince (Susan) Garcia and Sister Edith McBride, half brother Roger England, step sister Betty Sydall and 26 Grand Children, 50 Great Grand Children and 5 Great, Great Grand Children. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, daughter Karan Monsour and grandson Danny Monsour. Graveside services will be Thursday April 14th at 1pm at the Tooele City Cemetery with a viewing 11:30-12:30  prior to the services at Tate Mortuary. There will be a Celebration of Life for Ned at the LDS church on 196 N. Pinehurst Ave after the services.

152 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mildred Jones Burton, age 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family June 29, 2002. She passed away at dawn on a beautiful summer morning after fng a battle with liver cancer for the past 20 months.
Mildred was born Sept 1, 1925 to George Victor Jones and Susan Alberta Blackett in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1933, she moved to Nephi, UT with her family. She graduated from Juab High School in 1943. She attended Utah State University graduatith a degree in Elementary Education. She was involved in 4H, Lambda Delta Sigma and the Education Club, acting as secretary of that organization. Her teaching career began in Nephi, UT. She taught school in Corrine, UT, El Paso, TX, Helper, UT, and at Roosevelt and Rosecrest Elementary where she retired after more than thirty years of teaching first grade. Over a thousand little five and six-year-olds had the privilege of being taught by Mrs. Burton. Her love for good books and reading attributed to her excellent ability in teaching children to read. After her retirement in 1987, she tutored children in her home. She returned to Rosecrest Elementary in 1999 and worked as a reading specialist with some of the students there. She has been a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority for many years.
Mildred married Lee Clark Burton in Nephi, UT June 11, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Jan 11, 1965. They enjoyed almost fifty years of marriage until the passing of Lee June 2, 1999, just a few days beforer Golden Wedding Anniversary. She nursed him with love and care during his yearlong battle with cancer and was diagnosed with liver cancer a year after his passing. What a wonderful example of strength and courage she has shown throughout her life and especially the past four years. Lee and Mildred are the parents of three children, Steve, Lynn and Kathy.
Mildred loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She made holidays and birthdays extra special for everyone. If there was an occasion to celebrate, she was planning a party. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, reading and trng. She loved to spend the summer months at the cabin in Midway, UT entertaining family and friends. Everything Mildred did was accomplished with perfection.
Mildred is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served faithfully throughout her life in many church callings. She particularly loved serving in the Young Women and Relief Society organizations.

153 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister in law, and friend passed away on July 21, 2011. Beverly was born in Salt Lake City on January 27, 1925 to Louis James Scarlet and Selma Julia Grow. She grew up in Salt Lake City, and went to Columbusentary, Irving Jr. High and graduated from South High School. She married Franklin David Farrington Jr. on June 18, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together she and 'Bud' have left their family a great legacy of the importance of family and love. She was devoted to her husband and family, and they in turn were devoted to her. While Bud served in the military during World War II, Beverly worked at Kresses, the Federal Reserve and for a doctor in the Boston Building. Later after her children had grown, she worked for the City of South Salt Lake for 18 years and then retired. Beverly loved sewing, crocheting, knitting and quilting. Her handicrafts are a treasure to all her grandchildren with the quilts and Afghans she made for them. But most of all she will be remembered for the love she shared equally with everyone who was a part of her life. Her parents and her sweetheart 'Bud' preceded Beverly in death.
Survived by children: Lynne Jackson (Joseph), Frank III (Mary), Larry (Margaret), Dennis (Janae), Raymond (Gayla), Dianne Christensen (Michael), Paul, 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters in-law: John and Se, Dorothy Nolte, Joyce, Bonnie Newman, and Ken and Judy. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Sundwall Sr. for his care and wisdom throughout the last years of Beverly's life. We also express our deepest gratitude to all of those that provided care for Beverly at The Wentworth at Willow Creek, and from Sunbrook Hospice. Services will be held on July 27, 2011, 12 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call on July 26, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. Interment is at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

154 Our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend Vee Worthen, 96, passed away June 3, 2011 in Panguitch, Utah. He was the oldest man in Panguitch.
Vee was born February 16, 1915 to Samuel and Alice Cameron Worthen in Panguitch, Utah. He was the 3rd of seven children. Vee attended school in Panguitch and at the age of 21 he served a church mission to the Eastern and New England Statesn returning he married his sweetheart Adele Francis on November 3, 1938 in the Manti Temple. They had two children; Janice and David.
Vee drove Continental Trailways bus for twelve years throughout Utah and the West before returning to his roots, Panguitch. There Vee and Adele owned and operated Vee's Conoco Service, Worthen Oil Co,. and the family farm. Vee found his "" in life. He loved the station because he could talk and visit with the town's people and tourists as they passed through, and he loved the farm and outdoor lifestyle of Southern Utah. Vee was always involved in church, civic, and service projects. He had the best sense of humor and loved to tell stories. He was never afraid to give advice and explain the "right" way to do things. He will be greatly missed on his daily drives down the "River Lane" in his old red 1972 truck making sure the farmers are planting and farming the "right" way and to offer advice where needed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Adele; daughter, Janice; granddaughter, Stephanie Dalton; parents; brothers and sisters.
Survived by son, David (Olivia) Worthen, sister, Beth Nolf; grandsons, Mike (Chris) Dalton, Tod Crofts; 9 Grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 6 great- great grandchildren
The family would like to thank the special people of Panguitch who have been so kind to Vee throughout his life, especially the last few years. Thank you for the food, the visits, the friendship, the caring.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at 12 :00 noon in the Panguitch 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Panguitch on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

155 Our lovely Mother, Alice Jane Dewey Kidd, born August 5, 1937 to Leonard Valess and Constance Alice Pack Dewey and later married William Henry Kidd. Alice was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alice enjoyed readinnnis, water aerobics, walking and spending time with friends and family. Alice worked as a librarian and coached her twin girls bobby sox teams. A giving and loving mother and wife, she now is with her husband Bill and son Gregory who preceded her in death. Alice is survived by her children Luana (Steven) Davis, Marsanna (Michael) Fay, Diana (Andrew) Rowley, Bill (Linda) Kidd and her daughter-in-law Pam Kidd. Alice leaves behind her 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grand-children. Till we meet again, your loving family. Funeral services Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Crosspoint Ward, 1327 W 5550 South. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Wednesday from 10-10:45 at the church prior to services. 156 Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, George Richard Steglich, returned to his heavenly father on Friday, April 21, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer.George was born July 23, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the only sonladys Carman and Martin Steglich. He married Shirley Rae Sutton. They were later divorced. He married Sally Fowler, February 19, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He lived in Roy for the past 40 years. He worked at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1979. He took an overseas tour of duty in Chateauroux from 1956-1959, Athens, Greece in 1959-1960. He was an active member of the Lakeview Ward, and served in many capacities. His first love was scouting.
He is survived by his loving wife Sally of Roy; one son and four daughters, Kevin (Terri) Steglich, Montana; Sharon Crandall, Salt Lake City; Susan Christensen, Escalente, Utah; Kim (Alan) Haws, Centerville; Kristen Steglich, North Salt Laky; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Steglich, Joyce Fryer, Janett (Steve) Crabtree, all of Salt Lake City; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert "Butch" Steglich.
George loved life and lived it to the fullest. His courageous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. His philosophy was "you can laugh or cry your way through adversity, but I choose to laugh". He loved the simple things in life--his, his family and being of service to others. He was the neighborhood mechanic and "fix it" man. He also enjoyed working in his beautiful yard and attending annual family outings at Bear Lake. His home was open to everyone and he always made people feel welcome. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We love you dad, your family.
The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Vincent Hanson and staff for the loving care provided to George.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Research Division, 2000 East North Campus Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84113.

158 Our loving mother and grandmother, Nedra, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2007 at age 91. She was born on August 6, 1915 in Lyman, Wyoming to Leonard Ray Blackner and Bessie Louise Briggs, the third of nine children. Nedra was blesseh a natural alto voice and instilled a love of music in her family. She loved to dance and could follow any kind of music. She loved children and worked for 15 years as a preschool teacher in southern California. She was much loved by all especially the children she influenced. She married Grow John Walker, June 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with six children, Clark (Paula) Walker, Sparks, NV; Louise (Jerry) Rees, Highland, UT; Wyoma (Richard) Wilde, Murray, UT; Marcia (Terry) Shelton, Lyman, WY; Quinn (Sandra) Walker, Minden, NV; Mayla (Curtis) Slack, West Jordan, UT. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and four siblings, Dorothy Stewart, Kent Blackner, Bonnie Snelson and Ivar Blackner. She later married Leo Thomason and they resided in St. George, UT for several years. Funeral services will be held Sat., March 17th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Nedra left a legacy of love of life and family and she will be greatly missed.

159 Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, June Grow Van Fleet, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 1998, from complications of cancer.
June was born in Huntsville, Utah, on March 1, 1915, the oldest daughter of Henry and Ruth Halls Grow. She grew up in "The Valley" and graduated from Weber High School. She met Horace (Hod) E. Van Fleet, Jr. on the dance floor at Lagoon any were married on December 11, 1933, in Farmington, Utah. He passed away on August 4, 1977. She lived in Farmington all her married life.June's deepest devotion was to her family. Many lasting memories were made at family get-togethers in her beautiful home and yard. As a member of the LDS Church, she enjoyed couaching girl's sports. June also took pleasure in fishing, teaching Red Cross swimming, selling Avon, bowling and playing Bridge. In her later years, she loved to play Bingo and go golfing with her friends. She was very proud when she made a "hole-in-one". She deeply missed these activities and friendships as her health failed. June was loved by all who knew her, and she touched the hearts of many.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Tony) Pinto and Scott (Pat) Van Fleet; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Delore "Tud" Grow; sisters, Avon "Billie" Gray, and Dixie (Maurice) Gilbert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Otto, sister, Lucille Carter, a son, Paul, two grandsons, Michael and Douglas.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to all who have given of their love and cared for june during the past few months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 1998, at 3 p.m. at the farmington LDS Rock Chapel, 272 No. Main. Friends and family may call at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 Mo. 160 Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Beulah Verle Evans Scott, 77, passed away on July 24, 1998 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 11, 1921 in Spanish Fork, Utah, the sixth of eight children born to John Evan and Eliza Maretta Markham Evans. She was raised in Magna and graduated from Cyprus High School. She married George Milton Scott Jr. on April 2, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in Sunday School, Primary, MIA, and Relief Society, where she was a faithful visiting teacher. She was an excellent seamstress, making patchwork quilts and other handwork. She loved genealogy, cooking, and was an excellent pie maker. She worked for Grand Central for many years.She is survived by her husband, George, Sandy; son, George (Carolyn) Scott III, Washington, Utah; three daughters, Kathleen (Bill) Webb, West Valley City, Marianne (Blaine) Crump, Malad, Idaho, Renae (Rick) Stowe, Riverton; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Drucilla Romrell, West Valley City. Preceded in death by a grandson and his wife, Christian and Fae Walker Webb.

161 Our loving, caring grandmother, Jean Props, left us to be with her husband, George Props, and her daughter, Georjean Props, on February 25, 2012. Her last moments were spent in her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born November 11, 1928 in Murray, Utah to Harold and Clara Olsen Grow.
Jean married the love of her life, George Jackson Props, on September 2, 1952. They had one daughter and two grandsons who she loved and raised as her own.
Jean loved life and never gave up when things got tuff. She loved fishing the outdoors and being with family and friends. One of her favorite hobbies was making quilts with close friends and yelling at George when he got out of line. She loo laugh and enjoyed telling stories of her life. She loved everyone and judged nobody.
Jean will be deeply missed in every way. Her willingness to take care for others will live on through her spirit.
Survived by her grandsons, Jimmylee Merrill and John (Victoria) Merrill; great-granddaughters, Rayden Cheyenne and Sayge Takoda; sister, Faye Hales; and many nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2012 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, where friends and family may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

162 Our mother, Maurine Owen Barlow, and her first born, Jean Vilate Wayman, were killed in an auto-pedestrian accident June 21, 2001.
Mother was the daughter of Charles Henry Owen and Betsy Vilate Tucker Kingston, born Nov 26, 1913 in Ammon, ID. She graduated from the LDS Academy when she was only 16 and went to work at the phone company as a long distance operator.
She joined Albert E. Barlow's family Dec 20, 1935 as his third wife and blessed his life with 13 children. She kept meticulous records of her posterity: 180 grandchildren, 297 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. She kneh child and loved getting letters from them thanking her for the birthday cards she sent them every year. She answered every letter she received. Mom started taking snapshots at a very young age with her little Brownie camera and she collected many pictures that helped her to make a picture history of the Barlow family and the Owen family. It was important to her to be independent and healthy.
She enjoyed traveling to Israel and several cruises but the last few months she was looking forward to joining our Dad and her two sister-wives, Kate and Vio who had gone on before her. She also mentioned looking forward to raising her dau, Martha, who only lived four days on this earth. Mom had a strong testimony of the importance of living Celestial Marriage and felt it had been a blessing in her life.
Mom leaves behind her birth children, Hazel Zitting (Lorin), Virginia Webb (Lynn), Edmund Barlow (Penny, Ann, Elizabeth), Haven Barlow, Betsy Barlow, Steven Barlow (Anne, Deborah, Kathleen), Linda Kelsch (Gary), Doris Kunz (Morris), Shaunap (Matthew), Bonnie Kelsch (Alan), Barbara Sharifian (Homayoun); and her other children, Arlene, Frances, Ruth, Ianthius, John, Doug, Rebecca, Alhona, Ramona, Susan, Laura, Faye, Bob, Evelyn, Ron.
The funeral will be Tues. June 26, 11 a.m. at the Millcreek 2nd Ward chapel, 4220 S. 420 E. Family and friends are invited to call Mon. June 25, 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, and one hour prior to services at thech.

163 Our sweet mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dora Hall Carroll North, passed away Dec. 18, 2007 in Heber.
She was born Dec. 16, 1919, in Vernal to Iowa Jefferson and Mindwell Adams Hall. She was the youngest of eight children. She married Veldon Carroll May 18, 1937 and they were the parents of four sons, one daughter and one stillborn son.
They lived in Vernal; Arco, Idaho; and in Heber. Dora loved to play the piano and taught lessons for many years. She was in the Fun Band in Heber City. She served with the American Cancer Society in Vernal. After Veldon passed away on July85, she married Fred North on Sept. 16, 1990 in Heber. Fred passed away Jan. 19, 1992.
Her quick wit and blue twinkling eyes will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Emmett, Roscoe and Miles; sisters, Lamar, Marie, Reva and Mada; husbands, Veldon Carroll and Fred North. Survived by children, Clyde (Christine) Carroll, Denver, Colo.; Bruce (Joan) Carroll,r D'Alene, Idaho; Rhea (Scott) Santee, Lake Havasu, Ariz.; Lou (Karen) Carroll, Eagle Mountain; Ray (Diana) Carroll, West Valley City; and stepson, Ward (Jackie) North, Hemet, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family gives special thanks to Marge Allison for caring for Mom and the great staff at Sante Assisted Living Center.
Funeral Services were Saturday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main, in Heber. Viewing from noon to 1 p.m. Interment at the Vernal City Cemetery.

164 Our very special wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, Joanne Berrett Lemmert, 59, died Tuesday, September 8, 1998 in Kirkland, Washington of cancer.
Joanne was born April 25, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Wayne and Dolores Berrett. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1957. She married James McNamara in 1958; later divorced. She married Ralph Lemmert on August 29, 1985. Their marriage wasr solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She served in many positions in the LDS Church including, organist, Sunday School Teacher, Primary Teacher, and temple worker. The calling she most loved was President of the Young Womens Organization in the Kirkland Fourth Ward. Her greatest joy in life was her family, golf, music and knitting. She was successful at anything she touched and was always there for anyone that needed her. She owned and ran her own business for many years, after making Washington her home since 1968.Joanne struggled leaving behind her husband, Ralph; sons, Sean and Brad McNamara; daughter, Michelle Topham; parents, Wayne and Dolores Berrett; sisters, Sherry Deesing, Judy Heaps, Stephanie Young, Patricia Berg; stepchildren, Monica, Eileen, Richard and David; and 15 grandchildren.
Memorial service was held in Kirkland, Washington on Thursday September 10, 1998. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 12, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel 8090 So. State, where friends may call Saturday one hour pro service. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.

165 Penne Ann Bray Benson Maynard, 53 of Glendale, died on May 7, 2004. She is preceded in death by her parents Bert Isaac Bray & Gladys Mae Harris Bray. She is survived by her husband Henry Larry Maynard and in their care grandchild Khalin Ha, daughters Brandee B. (Deron) Hudson, Shannon E. Benson, Kimberley L. (Fred) Brummer, Misty L. (Frank) Churchwell, Kourtney L. (Marcus) Knight & Kelley L. (Christopher) Mears, son Jessup M. Benson, sisters Maryann Acker & Pauline Fowler and grandchildren Chelsea, Christopher & Mykayla. 166 PRESTON - Craig William Palmer, 57, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at the Bannock Regional Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.
He was born Feb. 24, 1945, in Preston, the son of James W. and Emma Scott Palmer.
He enjoyed riding bicycles, collecting computers, VCRs, radios and telling jokes.

He was preceded in deathis father; by a brother, Berkeley Palmer; by a sister, Raynette Brousard and by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, with Bishop Cleve Esplin conducting. 167 PRESTON, Idaho - Berkeley Scott Palmer, 66, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Logan Regional Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Malad, Idaho, the son of James William and Emma Scott Palmer. He served in the army during the Korean War. He enjoyed poetry and doing artwork. He liked helping people and he always looked out for others. He wry independent and polite.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Palmer of Preston; two sisters and two brothers, Rose Marie (Deane) Seeger of Irrigon, Ore., Craig Palmer of Preston, Martha Raye (Gary) Farnsworth of Manti and Brett (Lynette) Palmer of Fernley, Nev. He weceded in death by his father and by a sister, Raynette Broussard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, with Bishop Cleve Esplin conducting. 168 Ralph Evans Anderson, age 83, passed away June 14, 2010 at his home in Lehi surrounded by his family. Ralph was born to Evans LaVere and Liliane Pernoux Anderson on December 5, 1926. He married Shirley Scott, December 5, 1951. She passed awne 6, 1975. He later married Barbara Ann Mejia September 5, 1975.
Ralph served a mission in the Texas-Lousiana Mission. He worked as a truck driver for Lehi Block for 30 years. He served on the Lehi Civic Improvement Association for over 50 years. He was the Lehi Roundup Rodeo Chairman and loved working worses and dogs. He was also a member of the Lehi Riding Club. He served faithfully in many church callings.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Shirley Anderson, son-in-law Howard Hood, and brother-in-law Donald Nielsen.
Ralph is survived by his wife Barbara, sons: Scott (Marlece), Clay (Kelly), Dallas (Cari), Lee (Janelle), Cody (Jennifer). Daughters: Joan Anderson, Lois Cottle (Ron), Rachel Hood (Howard), Connie Bond (Harvey), Ruby Ramkissoon (Lincoln),ene Johnson (Parl). Brothers: Blaine (Alta) Anderson, Melvin (Dona) Anderson, sister: Marilyn (Don) Nielsen, 64 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren.

Ralph served in the military as a medic in WWII. He grew up in Magna Utah and moo Oakland, Ca after his service in the Navy. He married his loving wife Lorraine Lillian Catron. Ralph leaves behind his loving children and their spouses Nancy & Steve Bega, Dr. Richard & Anna Grow, Karen & Roger Wickizer. He also leaves his loving and caring companion and friend of many years Virginia Stephens, sisters Faye Hales & Jean (and husband George) Props, and many nieces and nephews. 170 Reva Hall Bodily passed away February 20, 1998 at the Bennion Care Center in SLC, Utah.
She was born November 24, 1911 in Vernal, Utah to Iowa Jefferson and Mindwell Adams Hall. She married Sterling Bodily April 2, 1932 in Duchesne, UT. Marriage sealed September 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 26, 1995. Res active in the LDS Church. Served as a primary teacher, MIA Councilor, Organist, Relief Society Historian and Temple worker.
She served as an election judge, dental assistant, bakery worker and was a skilled rug weaver.Survived by daughters, Mrs. Edward (Renae) Ormsby, Odessa, TX; Mrs. Otis (Clela) Nielsen, Napa, CA; sons, Vance (Shirley), Kearns; Verdin (Evelyn)nal; Larry (Judy), Kearns; sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Marie) Atwood, Vernal; Mrs. Carl (Mada) Bodily, Bountiful; Mrs. Veldon (Dora) Carroll, Heber; brother, Miles (Beulah) Hall, Vernal; 14 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Born June 11, 1924 in Magna, Utah to Julia M. Worthen and William Quillen Treseder. Married Verda Emily Caldwell July 30,1947 in Salt Lake City. She passed away February 21, 1981. Loving husband, caring father, grandfather, brother. Owned aerated R. T. Food-Dairy Equipment and involved a good part of his life in the food and dairy processing industry. Veteran of World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion. Enjoyed fishing, golfing, and being involved with his family. 172 Richard Ferris Kirkham Resident of Discovery Bay Richard passed away July 19, 2008 from complications of cancer. He was born September 25, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married Bonnie Dykman Kirkham in 1950. Ferris lived in Salt Lake Cir 65 years, except for two years in Germany with the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Utah where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees. While at the "U" he affiliated with Sigma Nu Fraternity. He passed the CPA examination in 1960 and worked for Ernst and Ernst, a national CPA firm (now Ernst and Young). In November 1961, he was asked to be president of the LDS Business College where he spent 25 years until his retirement in l986. He also served, at various times, as president of the Utah Hemophilia Foundation, the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club, The Park Avenue Home Owner's Association in Park City, Ut. In addition, he served on the board of director's of several Salt Lake businesses. In 1994, he and his wife relocated to Discovery Bay, Ca. to be near their children and grandchildren. There, they enjoyed boating, golf, tennis and bridge. They also traveled extensively in the states and abroad. Tennis was the love of his life, and he spent many happy hours on the courts over a period of 47 years. While residing in Discovery Bay, Ferris participated in activities of the SIRS, the Caliente Isle Yacht Club, The Discovery Bay Country Club, and The Discovery Bay Athletic Club. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie; his son Rich (Marilyn) Scotts Valley, Ca.; his daughter Tanya Coty (Ken) of Brentwood, CA.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A memorial service was held in Salt Lake City, Ut. A memorial will also be held at the Union Cemetary, Brentwood, CA. at a later date.

173 Richard William "Dick" Grow, 85, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, World War II veteran, scientist, professor, and patriarch, was reunited with his wife, Peggy, on June 8, 2011, after 22 1/2 years apart. Dick was bn Halloween, October 31, 1925, to Joseph Henry Grow and Helen Mary Horne in Lynndyl, Utah. He was raised with his sister Beverley in Union Pacific 'company housing' along the tracks in 'whistle stop' towns between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles.
He skipped the fourth and 12th grades and left high school in Caliente, Nevada at age 16, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, to attend the University of Utah to study electrical engineering. Dick was always very active in the LDS faith andd that all eight of his great grandparents settled in Utah before the coming of the transcontinental railroad in 1869.
In June 1944 at age 18, he enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington, named by Tokyo Rose 'The Blue Ghost' for its amazing history of survival. Dick maintained the radio and the newly-invented radar equit for the Combat Information Center that directed the naval task force of which the Lexington was flagship. He was honorably discharged from the Navy at age 20 on May 25, 1946, after serving for 25 months.
After reenrolling at the U, he met Peggy Anne Staub, a nursing student and recent convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1947. During their first year of marriage, Peorked as a nurse and gave birth to their first son, Richard. Dick completed his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with high honors in 1948 and his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1949, both at the University of Utah.
From 1949 to 1951, Dick worked in Washington, D.C. on a highly classified project to develop technology for testing the first hydrogen bomb. He was in charge of the electronics equipment which measured the output at ground zero when the firsdrogen bomb exploded on Enewetak Atoll in the South Pacific on May 9, 1951. Their second son Robert was born in Washington, D.C. in 1949. Dick pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, completing his degree in 1955, and continued his pioneering research at the Stanford Electronics Laboratories until 1958.
Two more children, David in 1953 and Margaret in 1954, were added to the family in Palo Alto. In 1958, Dick was recruited by the University of Utah as an associate research professor in electrical engineering. His research centered on micre and millimeter-wave vacuum tubes, solid-state devices, quantum electronic devices, applied optics, microwave diagnostics, and millimeter-wave and infrared imaging. During his career, he consulted for many prominent companies, supervised dozens of doctoral candidates, produced hundreds of papers and articles, and initiated several patents.
From 1965 to 1977, he was Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering, serving longer than any other chair in the last fifty years. During this time, he recruited key faculty members to the University who would build the Computer Sce Department and the Department of Biophysics and Bioengineering. Professor Grow helped create the explosive growth in technology that has contributed to Utah's thriving high-tech economy.
The University has always been Dick's second home, and after Peggy's death in 1988, his University friends and colleagues rallied around him. Although he enjoyed research, he loved teaching students even more. In 1972, Dick was recognized be Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for outstanding achievements in both his technical field and in engineering education. In 1983, he was presented the Distinguished Research Award at the U of U. In 2005, he was awarded the prestigious Governor's Medal in Science and Technology by Governor Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. 'in recognition for outstanding achievements and contributions in Science and Technology with significant impact to the State of Utah.'
 He taught engineering for 52 years at the University, teaching his last class in April of this year, and attended his 52nd graduation ceremony as a professor shortly before his death, a record which will likely remain unbroken. Dick was a fhful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving as scoutmaster, stake missionary, seventy, high councilor, high priest group leader, bishopric counselor, and stake patriarch in the Salt Lake Mount Olympus Stake. He was a devoted home teacher for five decades in the Mount Olympus 7th Ward, where he has many lifelong friends. In addition, he served in the Salt Lake Temple for 16 years and as a Temple Square host with his wife for 14 years. He shared a love for family history with his wife Peggy. He began serving as the genealogist for the Henry Grow Family Organization in 1964 and traveled to Germany, Pennsylvania, and other locations to research the Grow family ancestry. He also served as historian of the Joseph Horne and William Joseph Horne family organizations. Each grandchild has a large book of genealogy full of his and Peggy's work.
In 1964, Dick and Peggy welcomed an eight-year-old Navajo girl named Elaine Nelson Charles into their home as part of the Indian Placement Program of the LDS Church. The family embraced Elaine; the boys became her protectors and Margaret fy had a sister. Elaine lived with them during the school year for eight years. The Grow family is proud of Elaine and her five children. Dick and Peggy's son David was killed in 1974 while serving an LDS mission in Pennsylvania. This devastating event, however, strengthened and deepened Dick's testimony, which he relied upon again when Peggy passed away in 1988 after a prolonged struggle with cancer. Dick's quiet, steady example of faith, service, and persistence in the face of daunting obstacles has greatly inspired his family. As family patriarch, Dick has always been very proud of his growing posterity, frequently attending special events of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at which he was often taking slides or movies. His smile and his flowing white hair will be greatly missed at family activities
Dick saw his first Broadway show in 1954 and was hooked on the stage, particularly the great musicals of the last fifty years. He attended over 400 productions on Broadway, first with Peggy and then with his daughter Margaret. For nearly 50s, he held season tickets to Pioneer Memorial Theater, taking his children and grandchildren with him. He was an avid fan of the U of U Gymnastics Team for nearly 30 years, traveling to many national gymnastics tournaments. He supported the University of Utah in every way and championed 'Red' wherever he went!
Dick was also an avid fisherman, taking many trips with his family to Yellowstone, Flaming Gorge, and other locations, towing his boat behind his beloved and now ancient camper. He enjoyed fishing in Alaska and after a rapid six-week recoveom a broken hip, he went fishing in Alaska in 2010 accompanied by his son Robert, his grandson-in-law Karl Sun, and his oldest great-grandson Alex Sun. Together they caught a 282 pound halibut-a true fish story! Dick enjoyed traveling and visited Germany, England, France, Italy, Sweden, Russia, Mexico, Guatemala, Israel, Egypt, Japan, and many other places. With members of his family, he recently revisited the places he grew up and went to see his ship, the U.S.S. Lexington, now docked in Corpus Christi, Texas.
We know Dick is happily reunited with his dear wife Peggy. They will now have the opportunity to serve the mission together that they planned so long ago. He is also reunited with his parents, his missionary son David, and his older brothery. He will be greatly missed by his good friend and sister Beverley Stephan, Salt Lake City; his children: Richard (and Jody) Grow, Salt Lake City; Robert (and Linda) Grow, Sandy; Margaret (and Clark) Sevy, Salt Lake City; and his Navajo daughter Elaine (and Harry) Sombrero, Kayenta, Arizona; his 16 grandchildren: Jennifer A. Berard (Wayne), Nicole A. Evans (John), Trista L. Sterner (Josh) and Lara M. Yates (Breton); Lisa A. Sun (Karl), Robert W. Grow (Tricia), Matthew J. Grow (Alyssa), Adam J. Grow (April), Serena A. Heiner (Doug), and David M. Grow (Lisa); David G. Sevy (Krista), Shaunda A. McKay (David), Shayla L. Tucker (Michael), Eric C. Sevy, R. Christopher Sevy (Jessica), and Alan J. 174 ROY - Kathleen Grow Randle Singleton, age 82, passed away at home on July 14, 2011, after a lengthy struggle with multiple challenges. The richly deserved peace came during her sleep. Truly, the heart of our family is gone.
Kathleen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to William G. and Jessie Knowles Grow, the fourth of seven children. Her first job was as secretary for a large meat packing plant. She was just sixteen years old, the first sign of advanced maturi
She married Max Clifford Randle in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Three children were born to them: Clifford Lee, a brunet; Kathy Ann, a red head; Launa Rae, a blond. Later, she married Don Keith Singleton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Life did nme easy for Kathleen, she gave birth to two stillborn babies. To help fill the void they adopted a baby girl, Julie Donn. With this family, she had fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
At age eight, Kathleen began what would become a very serious study of piano and organ. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, opportunities to share her talents were many. She became ward organist and she aanied the choir at the tender age of thirteen. The depth of her ability led to her assignment as the rehearsal accompanist for Handel's Messiah in the Kearns, Utah, annual performance. Many will remember her work playing for an LDS stake program series of Broadway type musicals. It was not unusual to hear someone say when speaking of Kathleen, "Of course, she can play it."
Kathleen's strongest traits may have been in spiritual matters. She taught the Church's young women for over thirty years. Many of those people still keep in touch with her. To quote her husband, "Kathleen is fun, she is also funny, but thetants in her life, despite years of pain, are humility and dignity. She was always a lady." TRULY THE HEART OF OUR FAMILY IS GONE.

175 Ruby ReNae Scott Hadfield, age 56, died June 26, 1993 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo of cancer.
She was born June 2, 1937 in Murray, Utah to Lee Lawson and Ruby Iola Harris Scott. Married Carl William Hadfield June 12, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a homemaker, served in the LDS Church as pianist, organist, Relief Societydent, teacher, and patriarch's scribe.Survived by her husband of Lehi; sons and daughters, Shawn Dale, Brian Carl, Kevin Lee, Carrie Hadfield Biggs, and Laurie Hadfield Barlow, all of Lehi; Lynell Hadfield Smith of Payson; seven grandchildren; her mother, Ruby Scott; and brothers, Max and Rex Scott.

176 Rulon Stephen Scott passed away on March 3, 2000 at the age of 85.
He was born to Rulon Stephen and LaVella Pay Scott in Nephi, Utah on August 22, 1914. Rulon worked as a police officer in Burbank, California and then joined the Marine Corps during World War II. He graduated from the University of Southernfornia and was a high school teacher for 16 years. During the summer months, he spent his time at his favorite occupation - cowboying in the High Country. Rulon was very active in and devoted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rulon married Gwendolyn Sorenson; later divorced. He married Faye Cowdell Timothy.Survivors: wife, Faye; two sons, Steve and Richard; three daughters, Carol, Joan and Donna; daughters-in-law, Janice, Ilene and Judy; sons-in-law, Dale, Jim and Mike; two foster sons, Ralph Clayton and Donald Hurley; 30 grandchildren; 51 great-grand-children; sister, Jeanne Scott Dean. Rulon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marguerite; and grandson, Matthew.

177 Russell O. Anderson, 55, passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2004.
Russell was born Nov. 11, 1948 in Mount Pleasant, UT to LaRay N. Anderson and Mathel Walker Anderson.
Russell graduated from North Sanpete High School, Snow College, and Utah State University. He completed his medical degree at University of Utah, followed by a residency in San Bernardino, California. He established his medical practice inh Logan where he continued until his retirement in 1998. He was a compassionate family physician whose caring service to the community is missed.
He served a full-time mission to Ireland and enjoyed giving service in many church callings.
He married Julianne Howell in the Manti LDS Temple Sept. 18, 1971, and their love continues eternally.
Russell's greatest accomplishment was his loving dedication to his wife and children and his example to them in living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Russell is survived by his wife, Julianne Howell Anderson, and six children, Richelle (Andy) Lay, Shawn (Mindy), Bart, Derek, Kurt, Ashley, three grandchildren, his parents LaRay N. and Mathel W. Anderson, and his brothers Lester (Cindy), Gpencer (Michelle), and Neal (Jina).
He was preceded in death by his older brother Ivan L. Anderson.

178 SANDY --With love we say goodbye to our wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and dear friend. Dad passed away April 21, 2002 at Highland Cove Health Care Center following a year of declining health.
Born to Frank H. Berrett and Dollie Alice Cole in Union, Utah on March 3, 1915. He received his schooling in Union, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School in 1933. He married Sarah Dolores Morris on March 3, 1934. Later endowed in the Sake Temple Nov. 19, 1934. Mom died July 21, 2000.
Dad was the founder and owner of Berrett Heating & Air Conditioning, which he owned and operated for 40 years. One of his many joys was studying the gospel. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, servingany capacities within the church. Dad loved the Temple, serving faithfully his assigned duties at the Jordan River Temple from 1986 to 2001.
Dad and Mom traveled extensively during their 66 years together, as well as spending many hours together gardening. He had been a member of the Sandy Lion's Club, a member of the Temple Quarry Chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, and. After retiring, Dad took up the game of golf, which he truly loved. Many hours were spent building a "Golf Palace", a putting green, and golfing at Mick Riley's Golf Course with many of his senior friends.
Survived by daughters: Sherry Deesing (Paul), Judy Heaps (Vern), Stephanie Young (Mike), Patricia Berg (David); son-in-law, Ralph Lemmert; 19 grandchildren, 35 great grand children, two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, one brother.eded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, two sisters, and daughter, Joanne.
Special thanks to the staff at Highland Cove Health Care Center, where he was treated with dignity and love during the past seven months.

179 Scott Allen Bennett passed away Aug. 20, 2001 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 30, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Owen Allen and Olive Scott Bennett. He married Joyce Darlene Darton in Elko Nevada Feb. 21, 1952. He was a member of the LDS Church and was affiliated with the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local #19e 1955. He was a devoted family man who always put his family first and maintained his great sense of humor to the end. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survived by his wife Joyce, four daughters: Sharon (Kyrt) Kooyman, Linda Curtis, Tracey Bennett, Darcie Duran, nine grandchildren: Nicki (Todd), Jessica, Erick, Aaron, Danielle, Jared, Alicia, Justin, three great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Jordhianne, sisters: Marilyn Lundberg, Elaine Zeiber, brother- Robert Bennett, many nieces and nephews, preceded in death by parents, nephews Ronnie and Scott.
Services will be held Friday August 24, 2001 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 S. Redwood Rd.; where friends may call Thurs. 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services.

180 Services for beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend Gerald "Jerry" Leon Strong, who died Jan. 15, 2007, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., in Las Vegas.
Jerry was born Aug. 19, 1936, to Maurice and Josephine Strong in Salt Lake City, Utah.
At the age of 17, he joined the Marines and served for four years. Then at 22, he served the Great Lakes Mission of the LDS Church. When he returned home, he married Pauline Lemcke, whom he was married to for 35 years. He also served as bisf the Pahrump LDS Ward for several years.
His entire life was devoted to his family and his last days were spent enjoying his grandchildren and fishing. He is loved and will be truly missed.
His 12 children, 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him.
His son Matthew Strong preceded him in death in March 1995.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Springville Evergreen Cemetery, 1997 South 400 East, in Springville, Utah. (01/15/07)

181 Services for James M. "Jim" Crompton of McMinnville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, in the Yamhill Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop David Blanchard will officiate.
Private family interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery.
Mr. Crompton died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, in his home. He was 87.
Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., he was the son of Charles Woodhouse and Virginia (Andrews) Crompton. He grew up and went to school in Aberdeen, Wash.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he was involved in the Berlin Airlift as traffic controller in Berlin. He received a letter of commendation from the Secretary of Defense for that work.
He was involved in spy flights, or "ferret missions," over the Soviet Union to test Soviet radar capabilities during the Cold War.
After leaving the service, Mr. Crompton returned to the United States and lived in California for a couple of years. He rejoined the Air Force, serving until 1953, then joined the Department of Defense in Tacoma, Wash.
Later he became an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. He retired from the FAA in 1975.
He and Venice Nordes were married Feb. 6, 1952, in Tacoma, Wash.
Mr. Crompton lived in New Mexico, California and Alaska. He moved to Newport in 1989 and to McMinnville in 1993.
He married Suntree Crompton in 2004.
He was a member of the Latter-day Saints Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Ronald of Yamhill and Phillip of Ashland; a stepson, Vaughn Nordes of Riverbank, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 2004y a stepdaughter, Kaye Matsen, and a brother, Robert Crompton.

182 Shawn Adam Jones, 41, of Springville, Utah, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 after a prolonged battle with a respiratory illness.
Shawn was born June 5, 1970 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Milton Eugene Jones and Nancy Lee Wood. Shawn grew up in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. He attended George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, Virginia and graduated in. From 1990-1992, Shawn served an LDS Mission in the Tempe Arizona Spanish Mission.
After serving his mission, Shawn married Jody Lyman in the LDS Manti Temple and they began their life together in Utah. They had seven beautiful children. While raising his family, Shawn continued his studies at Brigham Young University and998 obtained his Baccalaureate Degree in Science from the BYU Marriott School of Management.
Shawn worked tirelessly to provide for his family and serve the Lord. He lived his life with vigor, tenacity, and love. He channeled his values and desires into developing his own sports apparel company, True Players. True Players is a branch represents all that is â??good in life, people, and sports.â? His vision was to bring the joy and passion he felt for basketball to others through his work. Shawn was a born athlete, a team player, and a true friend. In his work and in his life, Shawn inspired and encouraged us all to stay true to the game, stay true to ourselves, and to never, never compromise.
He will be eternally loved and dearly missed, and his memory will carry onâ?¦ uncompromised.
He is survived by his wife Jody Lyman Jones of Springville; six children: Ashlee, Jordan, Jacob, Baylee, Payton, and Capree; mother, Nancy Jones Cole; siblings: Kira (Joshua) Hallstrom, Kate (Michael) Beggs, Eve (Daniel) Battista, Meagan () Russell, Esther (Jim) Gray, Jonathan Cole; parents-in-law, Mike and Sherry Lyman. 183 She was born to John T. and Ella Neilson, the third of eleven children. She married C.G. "Hy" Burton for time and all eternity in the St. George LDS Temple on June 20, 1935.As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day S, she served in many positions and at 78 years of age, she served a two year mission at the LDS Church Office Building in Salt Lake City.
She spent her growing up years in the Washington Fields and St. George. Orean and her husband lived in Salt Lake City while raising their children and then at age 80, she moved back to "The Red Hills of Dixie".
She is survived by her one son Robert (Kristine) Burton of Pleasonton, Ca and three daughters, Janet (Don) Fraser of Hurricane, Ut; Susan (Steve) Holt of Washington, Ut and Mary Ann (Lynn) Keller of St. George, Ut; 18 grandchildren, 4 step-children, 36 great grandchildren; also three brothers, Shirl (Joy) Neilson, LaGrand (Yvonne) Neilson, Clayton (Betty Jo) Neilson; three sisters, Clara Krebs, Anna Tietjen, and Roberta deMik.

184 Shirley Mae Balis passed away at Franklin County Medical Center on January 24, 2012 at the age of 29 due to a sudden illness. Shirley was born July 6, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy Douglas and Martha (Gunderson) Grow. She was marrieded Eugene Balis in 1954. Together they raised two wonderful children Doug & Tammy. Through there lives they traveled and moved which they ended in Downey and have lived there for many years. Shirley enjoyed being with her husband Fred and spending hours playing on numerous golf courses. She also enjoyed watching horse races and football games with Fred. Her other enjoyment were sewing, crocheting, playing the piano (which she also taught), snowmobiling and spending time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her long life partner Fred, 4 sisters, 1 brother, a son Doug(Lana) Balis, a daughter Tamara(Bernie) Kelly, 3 grandchildren: Aurelia(Craig) Norris, Lyndsey(Joston) Cypriano and the late Kent(Jamie) Balis, 9 Great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. Shirley was preceded in death by both her & Freds parents and her grandson Kent. As was her wish, Shirley will be cremated at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Billie was born on July 24, 1916 in Huntsville, UT, daughter of Henry Grow and Ruth Halls. Billie was reared in Huntsville and graduated from Weber High School.
Billie married Ray Sterling Hansen on September 26, 1935 but later divorced.
She married L.T. Gray and later divorced.
Billie worked as a hairdresser and owned Belle Hair Salon. Later she obtained her Realty License and worked for Re-Max Realty.
Billie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints.
Billie loved golfing and playing Bridge. She also loved having lunch with her friends.
Billie is survived by her son Neal (Gaylene) Hansen of North Ogden, and her daughter, Susan (Lew) White of South Ogden.
She is also survived by her brother, Delore Grow of Ogden, six grandsons, and 16 great-grandchildren.
Billie is preceded in death by one brother, three sisters, and one granddaughter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Wasatch Care for the love and care they gave for their mother Billie.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 21, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden.

Born November 8, 1904 in Vernal, Utah, to Joseph Henry and Mary Alice Fisher Bodily. He married Reva Hall, April 2, 1932 in Duchesne, Utah. Marriage sealed September 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked in the Gilsonite mines, homebug, retired as LDS Church Offices custodian. He was always active in the church and served a Uintah Stake mission. Enjoyed camping and traveling with his family.

187 The funeral for Pearl Florence Ferris will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2900 Juanipero Way, Medford. Bishop Ronald Drake will officiate. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Memorial Park Maum. Mrs. Ferris, 86, formerly of Medford, died Friday (June 26, 1998) in Snohomish WA. She had suffered several strokes recently. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Center, 228 N. Holly St, Medford OR 97501, or Hospice of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore, Suite 520, Everett WA 98201-3581. She was born Pearl Florence Cubberly on December 18, 1911 in Salt Lake City. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1920 where she graduated from Franklin High School in 1930. On February 27, 1932 in Ventura CA, she married William Sherman Ferris, who died in 1976. During the 1940s, they owned and operated Ferris Mortuary in Glendale CA, then in Vallejo CA, published the Vallejo Free Press. They lived in Santa Rosa and Petaluma CA before moving to Medford in 1950. In 1953 they founded and developed Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Inc, and constructed Memory Gardens Funeral Home in 1960. After her husband's death, Mrs. Ferris became president of the corporation and was active in the business until it sold in 1987. The couple also developed and operated the Blue Spruce Mobile Estates in Medford. The couple enjoyed dancing and participated in exhibition dancing in both Medford and California. She enjoyed flower gardening and entertaining. Mrs. Ferris joined the Medford Crater Lions Club Auxiliary in 1951, then was a charter member of the Medford Crater Lioness Club, holding several positions. Her volunteer work included many hours at the Lions Blind Center. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she was involved in its Relief Society and choir. When her health started failing, she moved to Washington in 1992, first to live with a son in Olympia, then with a daughter in Snohomish. Survivors include two sons, Paul (Medford), Clair (Olympia); three daughters Audrey Nielsen (Hillsboro), Katherine Marshall (SLC), and Sharon Robison (Snohomish); a sister, Emily Reed, Santa Rosa; 22 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. A son, two brothers, and seven sisters preceded her in death.

188 The son of Edna Louise Dalton and Vernon E. Baird of Moab, he was raised by his stepfather, Hyrum Perkins, following his parents divorce. Raised initially in Moab, the family moved to Tooele when he was a child, and he graduated from Tooelh School in 1952. He married the former Jo Ann Garcia on May 8, 1953; they would have six children: Ron, Shaurna, Doug, Kathy, Robert, and Teri. After his wife's death in 2001, he would remarry to Anita Joyce Burr on August 24, 2002. Clayton served in the US Army from December 1952 to December 1954, during the Korean War, and following his Army service he worked for Dugway Proving Ground until 1987. Following his retirement from Dugway in 1987, he and Jo Ann moved to Hurricane, Utah, where they lived until Jo Ann's death in 2001, when he returned to his roots in Tooele.

He was born in Vernal Jan. 27, 1943 to Myron L. and Helen Gurr Hacking.
Tom enjoyed stock car racing, fishing, hunting and being in the mountains. His nickname was "tinker" because he enjoyed tinkering with cars and engines.
Tom is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by mother, Helen; wife, Alice; sons, Tommy Lynn and Myron (Teresa) Hacking; daughter, Holly (Ren) Lyman; brothers, Jim (Barbara) Hacking; sisters, Sherry (Jerry) Luck, Myrna Murray; ninndchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

190 TOOELE, Utah-Eva Garcia England, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away July 26, 1994 of causes incident to age in Tooele, Utah.
Born April 12, 1900 in Panguitch, Utah the daughter of Henry Grow and Laura Cameron Worthen. Married Jose A. Garcia, April 14, 1916. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He died September 13, 1940, leaving her with seven small chi. After his death she worked at TOD for one year and then worked at the Smelter for 11 years. She went to work at Tooele Valley Hospital where she worked for 20 years and after she retired, she worked there part-time.
Married Moray England in Elko, Nevada March, 1943 and he died December 3, 1962. Her church activities included working in the Relief Society as a teacher and a visiting teacher. She filled a stake mission from 1959 to 1961. She was a greataker and had a deep love for her family.
She is survived by six children, Edith (Leo) McBride, J.Don (Nona) Garcia, Opal Wilcox, Ned(WaNona) Garcia, Tooele, Utah and JoAnn (Clayton) Baird, Hurricane, Utah and Vince (Susan) Garcia, Longmont, Colorado; Stepchildren, Harold, Heith,r England, Betty England Syadall; 48 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sons, Joe and Keith and daughter, Laura Larson, mother, father, four brothers and 11 grandchildren.

Born September 28, 1924 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Walter H. and Mary Frances Caldwell. Married Rex. J. Treseder July 30, 1947 in Salt Lake City. She was very active in the LDS Church, involved with Primary, Relief Society and visitinghing, donating many hours to the church welfare programs.

192 Virginia Bennett Martin passed away April 11 2011. Born November 6 1961 In Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Owen Bennett and Virginia Marie Woodall. Survived by her two daughters Jamelyn Diane Bennett and Sarah Allyn Martin, Siblings, Pennye) Talbot, Arlene (Richard) Winkelman, and James (Erin) Bennett, and many nieces, Nephews, and friends that loved her dearly. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Brother- Robert Allen Bennett, and sister- Diane Bennett. Virginia had a keen sense for the beauty of all things, and enjoyed working as a clown to bring happiness to others, painting, to express her appreciation to the world, and a kind heart to listen to any person, with any problem, and still give understanding. She had many talents, one of them being the ability to perserver in any skill that deserved her passion. She was made cordinater of the New Born Intensive Care Unit for LDS Hospital for ten years. Virginia was a very sensitive person to the spirit of her heavenly father and understood the human heart all too well. Virginia was and always will be admired for her brilliance, complexity and love. 193 Wanda Hancock Allen peacefully slipped away at the age of 94 on November 11, 2009, at Parkway Health Care Center Payson, Utah. Wanda was born May 20, 1915 in Panguitch, Utah to Ernest Lovell Hancock and Marie Worthen. She married Joseph Berlen December 30, 1933 and the marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on May 20, 1937.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, two children: Shirley Rae and S. Carvel; three grandchildren: Jeffrey S., Traci, and Miriam; and one great grandson, Dustin Curtis. Also her siblings: Maida Olsen, Edythe Parkins, Ernest Maynancock, Olga Hancock, and John Carvel Hancock. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Wanda was an LPN and worked at Utah Valley Hospital and Utah State Hospital for 25 years.
She loved to play the piano, sing, and dance -- even after she could no longer walk on her own.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a proselyting mission in the Anaheim California mission with her husband from 1978 to 1980.
Wanda has three surviving sons: Joseph Lovell (Rhoda Robinson) Pleasant Grove, Utah; Stanley Berry (LoAnna Ramsay) Richfield, Utah; and Richard Lewis (Diane Measom) Payson, Utah, and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Nielson Allen Riding of Ephratah. She has 30 grandchildren, 71 great grand children, and 2 great great grandchildren.
The service will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at the Mountain View 9th L.D.S. Ward Chapel, 1128 East 100 South, Payson, Utah at 11:00 AM. Friends and family may call prior to the services from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.

194 Wendy Ellen Spencer, our loving daughter, mother and grandmother, passed away January 29, 2009 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
She was born September 27, 1961 in Provo, Utah.
She went to Provo High School.
Wendy met her soul mate, Paul Spencer and they were married October 12, 1996.
Wendy was loved by all who knew her.
Her granddaughters were the loves of her life. She will be greatly missed.
Wendy is survived by her parents, Douglas Kilt and Louise Massey; her ex-husband, Mark Goshorn; her two sons, Brett (Nikki) and Kyle Goshorn; and her granddaughters: Kaylee Shay, Alexis Nicole, and Brynley Elizabeth Goshorn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.

195 When not at her shop cutting hair, Myrna Joan Hudson would likely be at a grandchild's game or event, home preparing a meal and making friends feel comfortable, or lending a hand at her husband's restaurant.
Born Dec. 19, 1938, to Reuben and Hazel Close of Medford, Ore., Myrna was a devoted wife of 54 years to Kenneth Charles Hudson with whom she had three children, and was a loving mother to Ken Hudson Jr., Linda Carpenter, and Kevin Hudson.
Myrna and her family moved to Longview from Medford the summer of 1967 so Ken could manage the city's first Kentucky Fried Chicken store on 15th Ave. Two years later, she and Ken opened one of three restaurants the couple would have together Loin's Steakhouse (1969-1977), Cherry Tree Steakhouse in Lacey, Wash., (1972-1976), and Rio West in Longview (1993-2005). Myrna also had her own business, Gustoff's, where she cut hair for 32 years and enjoyed visiting with all of her clients whom she often referred to as friends.
One of Myrna's greatest passions was talking about God's love and sharing His kindness with others. Everyone who knew her felt welcomed and blessed by how she valued and served others. She attended Northlake Baptist, Shekinah Christian Centnd The Bridge while living in Longview. Many, including her children and grandchildren, have her to thank for their faith in God because of the gentle way she shared the message of His love while they either road along in her car or sat in her barber chair to receive a haircut.
The unselfish way she served others, her laughter, and bright smiling eyes will truly be missed. Though she never wanted to be left out of any gathering, there's no doubt Myrna looked forward to the day she would live in Heaven with her S, her "Mama", and her "Daddy". Her one wish was we'd all be there together.
Myrna died Aug. 8, 2010, at the age of 71.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, a daughter, 11 grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and her brother, Duane Close of Sandy, Utah.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Community Church, 2655 38th Ave., in Longview.
Those wishing to honor Myrna may make a memorial contribution in her name to the Lower Columbia Regional Cancer Center, in care of the St. John Foundation, P.O. Box 3002, Longview, WA 98632. Arrangements are by Steele Chapel at Longview Mel Park & Crematory.

196 William Boyd Ballard, 84, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Utah. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired book binder, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Neda; three sons, William Boyd II Ballard of Henderson, Glen Ballard of California and Leonard Ballard of Ohio; six daughters, Megan Jade Ballard of Henderson, Kerry Belcher of Utah, Judy Spooner, Peggy Skinner aylene Miller, all of California, and Wendy Hall of Texas; one brother, Robert Ballard, and one sister, Jerry sessions, both of California; and more than 20 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the LDS Sunset Ward, Pebble Road and Eastern Avenue. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6. Eastern Ave.

197 You all may remember a little while ago when I ranted how there are only a handful of people that I care about so deeply that I would trust my life with them or lay down my life for them. On October 14, 2009, one of these people finally pasn.
I do not believe I told many, if any, of you about Zac, but he was only the most cheerful person you could ever hope to meet. You could not be angry or sad if he was around. He had a spirit as beautiful as ever imagined, a spirit containedn a body that was less than such. Zac was afflicted with cerebral palsy, but that alone was not the cause of what made him special. Through his life Zac came down with many illnesses, among them were more than one outbreak of meningitis which eventually left him paralyzed and far more handicapped, physically and mentally, than he otherwise would have been.
I would often find, especially on days when I had actually seen Zac, that I was envious of his position. Not sorrowed or insultin, but genuinely envious. Zac had an outlook on the world that was always "grass is greener" deal. And Zac's reas not just to myself or our ward, as Zac was one of my church friends. Our stake center was nearly filled to capacity with people that all had memories of Zac. Most were in our ward or had been in our ward at one point in time, many were family from across the globe I think, and some were just simply people who knew Zac and knew how much he loved life. All that, and as selfish perhaps as it may seem, I am truly envious of.

198 Arthur Daniel West Pocatello- Arthur Daniel West, 91, a local Chiropractic Physician passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at a local care center following an illness. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho December 11, 1915 the son of Dr. Arthur Alfrnd Alice Eliza James West.
He grew up in Pocatello attending Emerson Elementary, Irving Jr. High and Pocatello High School. In 1930, he served in the Northwestern States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for two years and then went to Westerntes Chiropractic College in Portland,Oregon graduating in 1942, as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
He married Etta Zelma Grow of Wanship, Utah March 20, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He joined his father and brother in practice above the Cook Drug Store (Maag Drug) on West Center in September 1942. He practiced with his brother until 1961, then built a new clinic on North Arthur Ave. His son Dr. Darth G. West joined himractice in 1971, He retired after fifty years of practice in September of 1992. He was elected as a trustee on the Pocatello School Board from 1964-76. He was on the Parks and Recreation Commission for three and a half years. He had a love of the Scouting Program serving as President of the Tendoy Council in 1949-51, and served in many other position for many years. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. He was set apart by Ezra Taft Benson, in 1969 to serve as Bishop of the 10th Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Etta West, Pocatello, Idaho and their five children, Dr. Darth G. (Michelle) West, Pocatello, Idaho; LorEtta (Frank) Hall, Hailey, Idaho; Carson (Joan) West, Las Vegas, Nevada; Arlen A. (Debra) West, Idaho Falls,o; Arthur L. (Pam) West, Hailey, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Dr. Henry G. West; 6 sisters, Edna E. Hinkley, Florence Alice Orme, Della Marie Webster, Lucille Mary Ann Pack, Pearl Isabelle Henderson, and Ruby Elizabeth Arnett.
The family wishes to thank all their many friends and neighbors for their love as well as Creek Side Hospice staff for their care during the last three months, and also The Gables Assisted Living and their staff for their love and support. Fal services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gibson Jack Ward Chapel, with Bishop Robert Frackrell officiating. 199 Auto Hurls 5 Salt Lakers to Death

Car Hits Edge Of Highway, Rolls 197 Feet

DELLE, Tooele County, Feb. 29?Five persons were killed and a sixth injured critically here Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the worst single automobile tragedy in Utah traffic history.
The accident occurred when a 1940 model convertible coupe failed to negotiate a curve, turned over in midair, crashed on its top and bounced to a stop. The crash was on highway 40-50 approximately 27 miles west of Grantsville.
Dead, all of Salt Lake City, were identified as:
Charles Calvin Johnson, 22, 413 Van Ness pl.
Wayne Buckert, about 32, 440 E. 3rd South.
Hope Morrison, 17, 28 E., 17th South.
Harvey Raymond Boisjolie, 23, 751 W. 21st South.
Ramona Hackwell, 18; 660 S. Redwood rd.
Injured was Julia Galyon, 17, 32 W. 7th South. She was in "critical" condition at Tooele general hospital suffering from head and chest injuries.

En Route to S. L.

According to highway patrol reports the automobile was traveling east when it left the right shoulder of the road, rolled over several times and came to a stop 197 feet from where it left the highway. The car was demolished.
A witness to the tragedy, Riley T. Kelly, bus driver for Pacific Greyhound Lines, said the passengers were thrown out the torn top of the car as it was turning in midair just after it struck the ground the first time. Mangled bodies of the vims were scattered over a 35-foot radius.
L. C. Crowther, Salt Lake police chief, who was en route to Salt Lake City, was one of the first persons to reach the scene. He said four victims apparently were killed instantly. He assisted in giving first aid to the injured woman.

Auto Driver Unknown

A registration certificate on the steering wheel listed the vehicle as belonging to Charles Johnson. There was no indication as to who was driving the car.
Tooele county Sheriff C. A. Hymas, Deputy Fay Gillette and Trooper Roy Hansen, highway patrol, investigated. The injured girl was taken to the hospital by Tate-Gillette ambulance.
Officers reported the three couples had been to Wendover and were returning to Salt Lake City. Mr. Kelly saw the car for the first time about 15 miles east of Wendover and noticed it on the road several times. He stopped the bus at Delle foregular stop a few seconds before the mishap, he said.

To Query Survivor

Trooper Hansen said he would question Miss Galyan as soon as she is able to talk to determine more details of the accident, particularly who was driving the car.
Traffic records showed this was the worst accident in Utah history involving only one automobile. Worse mishaps have occurred involving two or more cars, trains, automobiles and buses.
