- Shawn Adam Jones, 41, of Springville, Utah, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 after a prolonged battle with a respiratory illness.
Shawn was born June 5, 1970 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Milton Eugene Jones and Nancy Lee Wood. Shawn grew up in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. He attended George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, Virginia and graduated in. From 1990-1992, Shawn served an LDS Mission in the Tempe Arizona Spanish Mission.
After serving his mission, Shawn married Jody Lyman in the LDS Manti Temple and they began their life together in Utah. They had seven beautiful children. While raising his family, Shawn continued his studies at Brigham Young University and998 obtained his Baccalaureate Degree in Science from the BYU Marriott School of Management.
Shawn worked tirelessly to provide for his family and serve the Lord. He lived his life with vigor, tenacity, and love. He channeled his values and desires into developing his own sports apparel company, True Players. True Players is a branch represents all that is â??good in life, people, and sports.â? His vision was to bring the joy and passion he felt for basketball to others through his work. Shawn was a born athlete, a team player, and a true friend. In his work and in his life, Shawn inspired and encouraged us all to stay true to the game, stay true to ourselves, and to never, never compromise.
He will be eternally loved and dearly missed, and his memory will carry onâ?¦ uncompromised.
He is survived by his wife Jody Lyman Jones of Springville; six children: Ashlee, Jordan, Jacob, Baylee, Payton, and Capree; mother, Nancy Jones Cole; siblings: Kira (Joshua) Hallstrom, Kate (Michael) Beggs, Eve (Daniel) Battista, Meagan () Russell, Esther (Jim) Gray, Jonathan Cole; parents-in-law, Mike and Sherry Lyman. He was preceded in death by his father Milton Jones and infant daughter Lucee Grace Jones.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobblecreek Eighth Ward Chapel, 2379 East 1100 South, Springville. Family and friends may attend a viewing Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church and on Monde hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
