      Funeral services were held Saturday, November 4, 1 p.m. in Vernal Fourth Ward Chapel for Milton Hacking, 69, who died November 1, in the local hospital of natural causes. Born February 1, 1903, Vernal to John S. and Mary E. Hall Hacking, Mard Mary Allen, December 24, 1924, Duchesne. Member of the LDS Church.
      SURVIVORS: Widow, sons, daughters, Bud, Cork, John, Mrs. Barney (Lea) Goodman; Mrs. Marcell (Lois) Gray, Mrs. Deloy (Dolly) Shiner, all of Vernal, 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren' brothers, sisters, Iowa, Clyde, Harry, Mrs. Alice H. Murray, all of Vernal, Mrs. Jennie H. Hatch of Boulder, Colorado.
      Prayer at mortuary was given by Louis Freestone, Obituary was ready by Bishop Don Walker. A violin solo, "Melody of Love," played by Lorna Condon, accompanied by Laura Hacking. Opening prayer by Dwayne Soderquist. Song, "Gold Mine in The Sky,y Kathy Evans accompaning herself on the guitar. Speaker was Charles Henderson, Song, "In The Garden," by Kathy Evans. Closing prayer by Lorin Hacking.
      Pallbearers; Mike, Danny, Allen, Darrel Hacking, grandsons, Walt Burfitt and Dez Murray, grandson-in-law.
      PRELUDE and postlude music played by Laura Hacking. Grave was dedicated by Father George F. Davich. Burial in Maeser Cemetery under the direction of the Vernal Mortuary.
      Mrs. Hacking was a plumbing contractor for 30 years. Since his failing health his son, John, became a business partner and co-owner of the business.
      Mr. Hacking was interested in car racing which he did as a young man. In the past few years he was an active supporter of the Vernal Stock Car Association and never missed a race. He and his grandson, Allen, along with Brett Hendricks, builttock car which was entered in competition in several races.
      Mr. Hacking was an avid hunter and fisherman and was concerned with ecology. He and several friends, in the early 1930, transported fish, on several occasion, by pack horse into the Baldie Mountains, planting them in various lakes.
