- Kyle Scott Willaford, 50, died early Wednesday morning, August 3, 2011 at his home in Bartlesville following an extended illness.
Memorial services for Kyle will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Darryl Wootton and Rev. Josh Willaford officiating. Memorial services and cremation will be directed by the Stumuneral Home & Crematory.
Honorary pallbearers will include Robert Peugh, Jason Cowan, Herb Cline, Rob Fouts, Chris Bullen and Jim Elliott.
The Willaford family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the L.V. Reeder Agape Fund ( a fund that gives back to the community) c/o First Assembly of God Church, 900 S.E. Dewey, Ave., Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74
Kyle Scott Willaford was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 21, 1961 to James Edward and Lida Elaine (Bennett) Willaford. He grew up in Bartlesville and received his education in the Bartlesville schools and graduated from College Highol in 1979. He attended Oklahoma State University at Stillwater for one year and worked part-time as a disc jockey on KWON Radio in Bartlesville under his father, radio personality, Jim Ford. He joined the Bartlesville Police Department as a dispatcher and then became a police officer for the City of Dewey in 1984. He returned to the Bartlesville Police Department as a police officer in 1985 and retired as a lieutenant in 2007. Kyle married Janet Sue Jump at Fairfax, Oklahoma on August 8, 1982 and they have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and was an avid OSU Pokes fan. He was "Papa Kyle" to his grandchildren and many others.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Jan Willaford of the home in Bartlesville, two sons, Joshua Willaford and his wife Tasha of Aurora, Ohio and Michael Willaford of Minneapolis, Minnesota, two daughters, Misty Repp and her husband John of Bartlee and Nikki Harrald and her husband Gary of Copan, Okla, and a special daughter, Becki Burpo and her husband Scott of Bartlesville, his mother, Elaine Willaford of Naperville, Illinois, two sisters, Robin Thomas and her husband Paul of Naperville, Illinois and Joellen Froehlich and her husband Phil of Colorado Springs, Colorado, six grandchildren, Julie Fitzsimmons and her husband Justin, Thomas Harrald, Colby Lee, Mary Harrald, Jake Harrald and Chandler Willaford, and a number of other special grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Willaford.
