  	Earl Francis Owen, our quiet and gentle husband and father, passed away on September 22, 2007, age 67, in Provo, Utah. He was born in Lyman, Wyoming, on December 11, 1939, to Charles Henry Owen and Delsa Aleen Edgel, the fourth of nine chil On July 26, 1975, Earl married Carolyn Belle Green in the Provo, Utah Temple. In 1976 they moved from Seattle to Alice Springs, Australia. Later, Earl taught for nineteen years at Brigham Young University as a professor of electrical engineering technology. The couple has four daughters: Laura, New York City; Jennifer, Salt Lake City; Merran, Olympia, WA; and Gillian (Jordan)n, Layton, UT. An active environmentalist, Earl could generally be found either in his garden or at the top of a Utah mountain. He especially loved the Waterpocket Fold in redrock country. He was an enthusiastic member of the Utah Valley Sierra Forum. Tholearly outnumbered by the women in his life, his real passion was his four daughters, Earl's girls. He will be honored at a funeral service on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at the Provo Peak Second Ward meetinghouse, 965 N. Locust Lane, Provo, Utah.
