  	Edward David Ormsby · 15 October 2015 · 0 Comments Edward, Ed, spelled Edd by his mother, was born in a small town that no longer exists. He came into this world with the help of his grandmother, Naomi Elizabeth Ledbetter, since the doctor did no arrive until several days later by wagon. He grew up on a farm in Throckmorton County in the town of Elbert, TX. He had one brother James Pascal Ormsby (Pat). Ed did seismograph work and ended up in Vernal, UT in 1950. He met Renae Bodily in 1950 and they were married. They were sealed in the Salt Lake temple in 1952. They had 3 children, Jimmie, Venita, and Sterling. Ed settled down in 1966 by going into production for ARCO. He moved to Odessa, Texas. Edward had a kidney transplant in 1984. This did not slow him down much. He always raised a large garden and shared with everyone. He served i many callings in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the First Bishop of the Odessa II ward in Odessa, TX. He was loved by everyone he came into contact with. This was evidenced at his funeral when on a very cold and wet day there was standing room only.
