    • Morris Jay Hall, 80, of Pleasant Grove passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born May 31, 1925 in Wellington to Henry Grant and Nina Blanche Nielsen Hall. He served his country during WWII in. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He married his sweetheart, Beth Varney on August 25, 1945 in Compton, CA. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, "She's Still The One".
      Together they raised a family of five children on the farm in Pleasant Grove. For 40 years Jay worked in the powerhouse at Geneva Steel where he made many lifetime friends. He loved the simple things in nature, the beauty of Mt. Timpanogod the treasured time with family in the mountains. Jay loved music. He was always whistling a tune and had a song in his heart. Service in church callings was an important part of his life.
      He is survived by his wife of 60 years; five children: Douglas J. (Shirley, deceased) Hall, American Fork; Linda (Doug) Parry, Pleasant Grove; Joye (Lee) Halley, Alpine; Boyd (Debbie) Hall, Pleasant Grove; Lisa Hall, Sandy; brother, Iowa Haleasant Grove. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren adored grandpa. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack; grandson, Parker; and granddaughter, Shan.
      Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Garden Fifth Ward Chapel, 750 North 600 West, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grod at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 72.
