- Francoise Marie Jeanne Fouche Hall was born on March 13, 1922 in Dreux, France to Pierre Jacques Maurice Fouche and Germaine Antoinette Giacomini.
She grew up in France where she graduated with high honors from the law school in Paris, France, during the German occupation of World War II. She and her family struggled through five years of hardships due to the war. On September 13, 1945, she married Clark A Hall who had been stationed there for more than a year with the liberating forces of the US Air force. She immigrated to the US and arrived in Salt Lake City on April 5, 1946. She was baptized the following month, and became an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She taught French for several years at the University of Utah and further continued her education at BYU where she received a Master's degree in French literature in 1972. She served in many capacities in the LDS church on a ward and stake level in Primary, Young Woman and Relief Society as a teacher, counselor, secretary and RS president. She also served as a guide on Temple Square. She served two missions in France with her dear husband, Clark - one in Paris and the other one in Ferney Votaire, France where she also taught French to the missionaries in Geneva, Switzerland.
Francoise is survived by her children Phillip Clark Hall (Rene), Kathryn Webb (Kenneth), Anne Clegg (Richard), Carolyn Chappell, 36 grandchildren and 95 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband Clark A Hall, her parents, a daughter Christine Gunn (Rick) and two grand babies.
Funeral services will be held at the Holladay 2nd Ward chapel, 2065 E 4675 S., SLC on Saturday, August 8 at 11 a.m. Viewing at the Holladay 2nd Ward on Friday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at 9:45-10:45 at the Holladay 2nd Ward.
