- DOUGLAS OWEN YEAMAN Dec. 18, 1941 - June 21, 2008 Age 66 years old He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1979 as Chief Gunners Mate. He served on his first ship, USS Bon Homme Richard CVA 31, and his last ship was USS Towers DDG-9. He spent a tour of duty in Vietnam on swift boats from 1967 thru 1968. Doug was a lifetime member and past president of the American Legion Post #500, Riverside, California, Mira Loma. He was called upon and served faithfully, in the US Navy for 23 years. Doug married his wife of 40 years August 26, 1968 of Olangapo City, Phillipines. Doug was born and raised in Chinook, Montana, spending several years of schooling in Ogden, Utah before entering his service career. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Grant E. Yeaman and Gladys G. (Forgey) Yeaman and one infant brother Patrick. Doug is survived by his wife, Benilda, of Riverside, one son Douglas, Jr. of Pennsylvania, brothers, Donald E. (Joyce) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Darrow of Fontana, CA, Robert M. (Emma) of Syracuse, UT, Daniel L. (Jan) of Syracuse, UT, sisters, Sharon M. Norberg (Frank) of Erlanger, KY, Connie J. Cummings of Clinton, UT and Colleen Passey of Ogden, UT, also many nieces and nephews. Doug will be missed by his many friends and family. Nothing loved is ever lost and Doug you are deeply loved. Viewing will be Thurs. 6/26 from 4-8PM at Rubidoux Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be Fri. 6/27 at the LDS Church at 8860 44th Street in Riverside at 11 AM.
