Clista Zelda Byington Chidester, age 84, passed away April 11, 2004 in Murray, Utah.
Born October 12, 1919 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, daughter of Charles Norton and Ettie Sophia Smithies Byington. Married Max Brown Chidester March 20, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she serverimary president, Relief Society president, served a mission with her husband to Independence, Missouri and worked in the Jordan River Temple for 12 years. She loved the Lord, her husband, children and grandchildren, they meant the world to her. She was a compassionate person who exemplified the ideals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in all she did.
Survived by husband, Max; children, Kenneth Max (Kay) Chidester, Los Alamos, NM; Gene Roger (Robyn) Chidester, North Salt Lake; Susan (Sherman) Cameron, West Valley City; Robert Jay (Noy) Chidester, South Jordan; Richard Charles (Cheryl) Cher, Aurora, Colorado; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Earl Byington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at the Kearns 16th Ward, 4605 West Westpoint Drive. A viewing will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood and Thursday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. Intermentley View Memorial Park.
