Rex Elbert Sedgwick, age 80, died June 3, 1995, at his home in Bennion after a lengthy battle with bronchiectasis.
He was born February 17, 1915, in Bountiful, Utah, to George Wilford and Clara Burningham Sedgwick. Married Tacy Virginia Grow October 23, 1940, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Rex held many positions in the LDS Church. Proud of his service in the Salt Lake LDS Temple as a temple worker. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Enjoyed gardening and golf and mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife Virginia; two daughters and three sons, Carolyn (Keith) Hunt, Orem; Alan (Lois) Sedgwick, Pollock Pines, Calif.; Christine (Dan) Parker, Park City; Russell (Kalynn) Sedgwick, Bennion; Jeffery (Marie) Sedgwick, West Jord2 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Veda S. Hayes of Bountiful and Ida S. Pignataro of St. George.
Preceded in death by his parents; a baby daughter, Laurel; seven brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon at the Bennion Heights 7th Ward, 3045 West Bernina Drive, where Bishop Jon Healy will officiate. Friends may call Tuesday, 5-8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, ande church Tuesday, 11-11:40 a.m. Interment in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
