  	Prominent businessman and dear friend, Dean Emer Murdock, age 85, passed away Jan. 9, 2000 in Price. He was born December 18, 1914 in Heber, Utah to Emer Wright and Tarza Henrie Murdock. Married Catherine Grow, July 25, 1942 in Paris, Idaho. Graduate Wasatch High School and later attended the University of Utah. Dean moved to the Price area in 1940 and started Clicquot Bottling Company. After serving the U.S. Army/air Force during World War II, Dean returned to Price and started Murdock Distributing where he began delivering Wonder Bread in Carbon & Emery counties. He remained owner and operator of Murdock Distributing prior to his retirement in 1995. Life member Price Elk's Lodge #1550. Member Price Kiwanis where he served as President in 1962. Dean was a Life member of the VFW Price Post #2379 and member Price American Legion Post #3. He will be dearly missed by his family and many longtime friends. Survived by: his loving wife, Catherine Murdock, Price; daughter, Cathie (Doran) O'Halloran, Sacramento, CA; son, Hal (Sharon) Murdock, Price; sister, Mildred Lennberg, Salt Lake City; grandson, Keith Dean Wiseman, Salt Lake City; granddaughter, Kylie O'Halloran, Sacramento, CA. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service, Thursday, January 13, 2000, 2 p.m. Mitchell Chapel. Family will be at Mitchell's Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home daily from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Interment: Price City Cemetery. Deseret News, January 11, 2000, Page B4
