  	Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Franklin LaMar Maddy, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a valiant battle with cancer. LaMar was born June, 18, 1933 in Magna, Utah, the oldest of three sons born to Frank Earl and Mildred Lillian Henline Maddy. He married his sweetheart, Monta Rose, for time and all eternity on July 11, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. She wasove of his life whom he cherished throughout this brief mortal existence and will continue through the eternities.LaMar was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served as scoutmaster, Elders Quorum president, bishopric councilor, Bishop of the Lake Ridge Second Ward, stake high councilor, stake missionary and was a talented and beloved teacher of the gospel. He devoted his life to the gospel of Jesus Christ and received his greatest satisfaction from serving others. His thoughtful service earned the love, trust and admiration of all who knew him. LaMar played the drums as a young man, loved big band music, enjoyed singing, drawing, reading, and writing on gospel topics. Survived by his wife of 47 years; five children, Jeff (Karin) Maddy; Cindy (Kim) Dyches; John (Katie) Maddy; Kaye (Kevin) Astill; Karen (Danny) Astill; brother, Gerald Wayne Maddy; father-in-law, Elgin K. Rose; and 21 grandchildren. Precen death by his parents and younger brother, Kenneth Lynn Maddy; mother-in-law, Gladys Roberts Rose. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, 1999 at noon in the Magna Utah East Stake Center, 2875 South 8000 West, Magna Utah. Friends may call Thursday, July 29, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West and 2700 South, Magnah, and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center.
