  	Ogden Standard Examiner 12 Apr 1926 Mrs. Martha Jane Grow Hawkins, wife of James M. Hawkins, Ogden Policeman, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at the home, 3293 Adams Avenue. She was born in Huntsville on June 20, 1871, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Langlois Grow, and had lived in Ogden for 50 years. She was married to Mr. Hawkins 15 years ago. Surviving are her husband, three sisters, Mrs. Sterling Yeaman and Mrs. Harvey Dixon of Ogden, and Mrs. Annie Olson of Lewiston; a brother, Samuel Grow of Ogden and the following children: Mrs. M. F. Merrill of Salt Lake, Mrs. E.E. Watson, LaRenna Slater and Rhoby Slater, all of Ogden, and Thomas Slater of Los Angeles. Larkin & Sons have charge of funeral arrangements. __________________________________________________________ Ogden Standard Examiner 15 Apr 1926 Services for Mrs. Martha Jane Hawkins, wife of James N. Hawkins, were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Ninth ward chapel with Bishop W. Oswell Jackson presiding. Members of the police force attended in a body and nine uniformed members ofe organization acted as pall bearers. Members of the relief society took charge of the flowers. Two solos, "I Know My Redeemer Lives: and "The Christian's Good Night" were sung by Charles Pike of Salt Lake. A duet, "Cast Thy Bread Upon the Waters" was sung by Mrs. Ethel Holbrook and Mrs. Annie Jensen. Mrs. Jensen sang "O Dry Those Tears." At the grave side in the City cemetery a trio composed of Mrs. Jensen, Mrs. Holbrook and Mr. Pike sang "Tho' Deepening Trials." The speakers were Spostle David O. McKay, Charles H. Taylor, President Frank W. Stratford and E. A. Larkin. The dedication was given by Bishop Jackson. _____________________________________________________________
