  	Gordon Henry Grow Gordon Henry Grow, 15, 1600 E. 8th North, Provo, was born in Provo April 16, 1948, the son of D. Spencer and Arta Hazel Lind Grow. He attended Brigham Young elementary and junior high schools. He was a teacher in the Thirteenth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include his parents and the following brothers and sisters all of Provo; David S., Steven L., Mrs. Dennis E. ( (Karen) Twomisto, Gina Maria and Linda Grow. Mrs. H. G. Lund, twin Falls, Idaho, a grandmother also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m., in the Provo Thirteenth LDS ward chapel. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., at Berg Mortuary and in the Ward Chapel's Relief Society Room Thursday after 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills. The Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, Utah) 12 Jun 1963, Wed, Page 38 Col 1-2. ________________________________________________________ Boy Scout Memorial JUST PRIOR TO THE CREATION of Lake Powell, a party of 49, including Explorer Scout Post 36 from LDS Pleasant View 3rd Ward, Provo, Utah, set out on an expedition to run the Colorado River rapids between Hole-in-the-Rock and Glen Canyon. Ridn an open truck, they reached this point at approximately 3:15 on the afternoon of June 10, 1963.The truck stalled as it ascended the grade, and its brakes failed. Rolling backward, it overturned and rolled down the steep embankment on the other side of the sharp curve from this monument. Seven scouts and six adults lost their lives in this tragic highway accident, the third worst in Utah's history.
