  	Published: October 2, 2007 UMATILLA Paul H. Taylor, 74, of Umatilla died on the morning of Sept. 26 at his home in Umatilla. He was born in Roberts, Idaho on July 31, 1933 to Wells and Thelma Taylor. He married Verrae Strebe on Feb. 1, 1965 in Saint Maries, Idaho. They were married 41 years. Paul and Verrae had three children, Rod Taylor, Joe Taylor, and Nancy Taylor, and four stepchildren, Dorinda McKinnis, Duana Ross, Nancy Taylor, Danny Nance. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954. He then attended Boise State in Boise, Idaho for a year. In 1958, he moved to Mesa, Wash., to join his father on the farm. Paul farmed in Mesa from 1958 to 19e then moved to Lexington and farmed until 1994 when he retired. In 1988 he moved to his new home next to the golf course in Umatilla. He loved to play golf. Being a pilot, he would go to Yuma, Ariz., every winter for five months. He was active in Elks Lodge #32, Eagles Lodge, and Camper Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wells and Thelma Taylor; stepmother, Bardee Taylor; son, Dana Nance; granddaughter, Josey Sue Taylor; and grandson, Danial Nance. Paul is survived by his wife, Verrae; sons, Rod, Joe, and Dan; daughters, Nancy, Duana, and Dorinda; brothers, Demont and Rawley Taylor; sister, Nancy Clauson; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 15 Grant Ave., Umatilla. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. at the Central Cemetery in Grant, Idaho. ____________________________________________________________
