- Searchers Find a Body in Big Hole
The body of a Boulder man who disappeared Sunday while fishing on the Big Hole River was recovered Monday after a six-hour search by four area search and rescue units and residents of Melrose.
Thomas Michael Cantlon, 51, an employee of Boulder River School and Hospital apparently died of a heart attack before falling into the river one mile South of Melrose Sunday, Madison County Sheriff Hoy Kilson said.
Kilson siad no water was found in Cantlon's lungs, indicating he probably did not drown. He said the man recently had been released from the hospital, recovering from an operation.
The body was recovered in a river channel about four miles South of where Cantlon's gear and tackle box were found Sunday.
An unsuccessful seven-hour search Sunday was continued Monday by about 40 persons including members of the Vigilante Search and Rescue from Twin Bridges, Ruby Valley Search and Rescue Team from Twin Bridges, Ruby Valley Search and Rescue fromeridan. Beaverhead Search and Rescue from Dillon and Big Hole Search and Rescue from Melrose.
Silverbow County Deputy Fay Bumgarner, who found the body with Bob Gooding of Melrose about 12:45 commended all those involved for their concern and cooperation.

PRETTY HOME WEDDING AT THE COLUMBIA GARDENS
Justice Robert Ornsby officiated on Wednesday evening at a very pretty home wedding at Columbia gardens. The contracting parties were Emmet Cantlon and Miss Rose Agnes Henault. The happy affair took place at the residence of the bride's pare, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Henault, at the gardens. The bride is an only daughter. The groom is a son of John Cantlon, proprietor of the Pittsmont hotel, and one of the old-timers of Montana and has been employed at the Pittsmont for several years. The wedding presents were many and of the useful variety. About two dozen relatives and friends attended. The wedding was followed by a fine supper.
