  	Marcus Hyrum Burton, age 87, passed away August 24, 1991, while hospitalized in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born November 23, 1903, in Nephi, Utah, the son of Judge Thomas Hyrum and May Pexton Burton. Married Helen Cowan, June 27, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death December 10, 1972. He then married Lillian Richardson, July 2, 1973. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving a mission in the Eastern States under B.H. Roberts. He was also a counselor in the Bishopric of the Chevy Chase Ward of the Washington D.C. Stake. He was President of the District of Columbia Dental Society; President of the University Club of Washington D.C.; President of the Georgetown Alumni Club; and President of the Kiwanis Club of Washington D.C. He graduated in 1933 from Georgetown University Dental School.He was engaged in the practice of Oral Surgery in Washington D.C. for many years as a member of the firm of Doctors Mead, Lynch, Burton and Mead. He later established the first Dental Hospital in Salt Lake City. Beloved husband, devoted father, generous to a fault. He was a true friend to man whom he loved and lifted by his wit and wisdom. Survived by his wife, Lillian, Fruit Heights, Utah; 3 daughters and 3 sons: Judith Richardson Vergun, Monmouth, Oregon; Dr. Joan Richardson Anderson, Amsterdam, Holland; Joy Richardson Daynes, Salt Lake City; Thomas Mark Burton, Pleasanton,fornia; Richard Cowan Burton, Denver, Colorado; and Harry Cowan Burton, Venice, Florida; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers: Florence Worthington, Logan, Utah; Blanche Hesse, Salt Lake City; Alma P. Burton, Orem, Utah; and Lee Clark Burton, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a brother, Clarence G. Burton. ____________________________________________________________
