      I was born in Hunter, Utah, a farming community just a few miles from Salt Lake City, Utah. Our home was next door to the Hunter Ward Chapel where I was blessed the 2 February 1902 by Lorenzo Day.
      My parents moved to Magna, Utah about 1906.
      I started school at the Hawthorne School in Pleasant Green, Utah. I attended this school until the sixth grad. While at Hawthorne School I met Spencer W. Cornwall. He was a member of the Salt Lake County School Board, he would visit our school about once a month and taught us the correct way to sing. (I wonder if he dreamed then he would one day be leading the Great Tabernacle Choir.)
      I attended the Webster my seventh grade year and then back to Hawthorne where I graduated from the eighth grade.
      A Branch was formed in Magna from the Pleasant Green Ward the latter part of 1911. In 1912 I was called as organist. While serving as organist I had my first faith promoting experience. (This is written my life story.)
      During the years 1914 and 1917 I worked in thehome of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hammond, he was Supt. of the Bingham and Garfield Railroad.
      The years 1916 and 1917 I was clerking in JC Penny Co.
      I met Roy Elmore Harris in August 1917. We were married in October 1917. Roy was not a member of the church then, he was baptized the 2 July 1918. Roy left San Diego, California for New York to sail to France in World War I August 1918. I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. I got a job and worked until Roy returned from France in 1919.
      We moved to Magna, Utah for a short time then returned to Salt Lake City, Utah.
      April 11, 1920 our first child was born, he was blessed and given the name Roy Elmore Harris Jr.
      January 12, 1921 we were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity by President Joseph Fielding Smith. Roy was sealed to us that same day. We were living in the Eighth Ward Liberty Stake. I was a teacher in the Religion Class.
      We had our Patriarchal Blessings while in this ward. We received them from Patriarch John M. Whitaker of Sugar House. He was a very dear friend.
      May 31, 1921 our second child was born, a daughter. She was blessed and given the name of Gladys Mae Harris. Gladys was about three months old when we moved to Ogden, Utah.
      We moved back to Magna, Utah Jan 28, 1922. Our third child, another son was born June 28, 1922 he was blessed and given the name of Joseph Greenleaf Harris. With three small babies I was not active while living in the Pleasant Green Ward. Roy tried to do enough for the two of us.
      Our fourth child another son was born January 15, 1924. He was blessed and given the name of his step-grandfather, Richard Thomas.
      We opened a small café we called it the Hurry Back.
      Another son was born in our home July 3, 1925 he was blessed and given the name of Russell Eugene , Russell for our family Doctor and Eugene for my brother Lloyd Eugene. Many faith promoting events occurred between this years and they are recorded in my life story. We sold our café in 1926 and moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah. We didn't live there very long. We moved back to Magna.
      We were blessed with a sixth child, another daughter, October 10, 1926. She was blessed and given the name of Ruby Vilate Harris. Ruby for my mother and Vilate for me.
      Roy became ill as a result of gas during World War I. This old trouble was coming back due to the dust at the mill where he worked. Our family Doctor said we would have to move to Arizona. We arrived in Mesa just before the dedication of the Temple. We lived in Third Ward for two years.
      In August of 1929 we moved to Fourth Ward called the old Alma Ward. In December 1929 another daughter was born into our family. She was blessed and given the name of Anna Rose Harris. She was named after my husband's mother, Anna Rose Harris Harrell.
      In June of 1930 I was called as a primary teacher. Hazel Millett was President of the Primary. Later I served as First Counselor. in 1932 I was called to teach Junior group later Gleaners in YLMIA. In 1935 I was called as a counselor in the Presidency of the YLMIA. In 1937 I was called as president of this organization. I had just gotten the Mutual fully organized when I was released and called as Relief Society President.
      In between all these changes another son was born in our home., He was blessed and named for his Grandfather Treece, William Robert Harris. I was released in 1938 fro Relief Society and again taught Gleaners.
      The year 19040 our ninth child was born, another daughter. She was blessed and given the name of Patricia Joan Harris.
      December 1940 our oldest daughter married Bert Isaac Bray.
      June 1941 our oldest son married Naomi Ellsworth in the Mesa Temple.
      November 1942 we buried our first grandchild, William Bert (Butch) Bray.
      Russell and Irma Richins were married December 1942 in the Mesa Temple.
      Richard married Beverly Blackburn March 16, 1943 in the Mesa Temple.
      January 1944 four of our five sons and a son-in-law are in the World War, four of them in the South Pacific.
      July 1944 our third grandchild was born, when he was twelve hours old the doctor said if we wanted him to have a name we had better call our Bishop. The doctor didn't expect the baby to live more than fifteen minutes. Bishop Davis came and administered to the baby, he was known as the miracle baby. (full details of this wonderful experience will be told in my life story)
      The 25th of March 1945 we moved from Mesa to Phoenix, Arizona.
      Anna Rose married Leonard Roy Barrett the 26th of January 1946.
      In 1952 I was taking my work in Genealogy very seriously. I was called to help with a Stake school. I was set apart as a home teacher in the Phoenix First Ward.
      Between 1955 and 1956 I held rummage sales for the Ward building fund, the Lord really blessed me. I turned into our Bishop $120.00. August 1957 another rummage for ward budget, total monies mad $300.00.
      1957 Monsanto Chemicals Co. agrees to help us promote Books of Remembrances, by selling plastic sheets for cost. Results, we sold 50,000 the next year to cover sheets with pictures, documents and other valuable information.
      January 1958 I was helping with another Stake Genealogy School.
      April 1958 back in the rummage business, this time to help the Primary Stake board send ten of its members to general conference. Total monies $190.00.
      May 1958 spoke to the Stake Seventies Quorums on the importance of building a Book of Remembrance.
      June 14, 1958 our youngest daughter married Richard J. Barrett (brother of Leonard) in the Mesa Temple.
      September 12, 1958 we received a call from President Mendenhall to fill a work mission in New Zealand. We left Phoenix the 18th of October arriving in New Zealand October 26, 1958.
      October 30th, 1958 Brother Mastenga chairman of the Temple View Ward genealogy committee called at my home to see if I would work with the committee as a home teacher, and promote the book of remembrance.
      November 8th, 1958 called to serve as the integration committee; this was a nice assignment.
      December 1958 Bishop Beecher of the College Ward, asked if I would help the College with Leadership Week. Bishop Beecher was an English teacher at the College as his contribution to Leadership Week he was having a Genealogical display. His wife, Elene, Jerry D;Addabbo, Eve King and myself were to get together everything we could to make this a success. We did not know it then but the next two years we would enjoy more happiness than we had ever known, the four of us traveling as a genealogy committee for the Stake.
      February 13, 1959 received a letter from the Stake Genealogy Committee accepting our offer to tour the branches and wards with our program.
      May 1959 without any warning was call to speak in the afternoon session of our quarterly conference. June 1959 spoke to the sisters at the Stake Relief Society Union Meeting. Topic, "Book of Remembrance".
      I had the privilege of giving Genealogy to six Senior Aaronic Schools.
      December 1959 making plans for another Leadership Week at the College.
      May 1960 helping with the Stake Genealogy School, we were happy to have as students President Beisinger, his wife and two sons.
      July 1960 called to serve as a Stake Missionary.
      November 6, 1960 Auckland Stake divided. We will now be laboring in Hamilton Stake. Elder Spencer W. Kimball was in charge. He dedicated the Stake Center at Mt. Roskill, which will now be the Auckland Stake Center.
      December 1960 I am preparing for another Leadership Week at the College. (Genealogy of course.)
      December 1960 called to serve on the Stake Genealogy Committee as home teacher supervisor.
      March 21, 1961 we are making plans to return home. We have had three wonderful months with our new assignment. We have visited Taurange, Thames, Mangakino, Huntley, Hamilton Ward twice, next Sunday, March 26, we will go to Taupo Branch. We have completed 900 starter Books of Remembrances. Another genealogical school has started in Temple View 2nd Ward, I will have the privilege of giving the Book of Remembrance lesson. The next semester at the college genealogy will be given in the religion classes. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the students.
      April 9, 1961 gave our farewell address in College Ward (now Temple View 2nd Ward)
      April 14, 1961 we left our home in Temple View for Auckland, Brother and Sister Maynard, the Ken Baughs, the D C Kleinmans, the Pat D'Addabbos, the Al Stewards took us to one of the leading hotels for a farewell dinner. We then drove to the airport. Sister Hawthorne was there with several of our friends. It was with mixed emotions we said goodbye, we were happy to be going home, yet unhappy leaving our New Zealand home.
      April 26, 1961 gave our home coming address at the First Ward, East Phoenix Stake, Phoenix, Arizona.
      May 16, 1961 we are settled in our home in Mesa, Arizona.
      May 21, 1961 spoke in 4th Ward Maricopa Stake. It was a real pleasure our son Richard is the Bishop of that Ward.
      July 6, 1961 our oldest daughter Gladys and husband, Bert go to the Temple for the first time. It was a happy day for our family as we witnessed their marriage for time and all eternity and the sealing of their children to them.
      September 11, 1961 gave our farewell address to our friends in the First Ward, East Phoenix Stake, Phoenix, Arizona.
