Notes |
- Iowa was born in Beaver, Utah.
He went by the name of Jeff. His family moved to an area that they named Dry Fork. Jeff was a hard worker. He hauled timber from the mountains near Dry Fork. He decided that he wanted to be a sheep herder. As a result he spent many months alone in the mountains with his sheep dog, living in a sheep trailer. He was a friend to all, including many famous outlaws & the Indians. He built their 1st home, which was a 1 room log house with a dirt roof located on the banks of dry Creek. He also hauled coal, trained horses & groomed horses. He never owned a car. They grew vegetables & fruit & lived off the land. My mother loved to visit him at the sheep camp. I remember as a boy his stories about the outlaws & Indians. I didn't know if they were real but they were. When we stayed at their house, we slept in the loft of the home. It was an exciting adventure.
