      Elwood G. Dixon
      Pleasant View - Our devoted father, grandfather and brother, returned to our Heavenly Father and to be with his wife and sweetheart Minnie, on Monday, April 3, 2000.
      Elwood Grow Dixon was born May 17, 1906 in Bliss, Idaho. He was one of 14 children born to Harvey Jr. and Emily Sarah Grow Dixon. Elwood spent his early childhood in Idaho and as a teenager moved to Echo, Utah.
      He married Hermiena "Minnie" Staker on July 3, 1929 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 26, 1965. They enjoyed 61 years together before Minnie passed away in 1992. Their home in Ogden was acome place to visit. Elwood resided his last eight years at the home of his daughter in Pleasant View.
      Elwood was a High Priest in the Pleasant View 5th LDS Ward. He also served as a counselor int he Elders Quorum, Assistant Ward Clekr and as a Home Teacher.
      He worked as a grocery store manager for Safeway Foods and as a wholesale produce truck driver for Slot Brothers Produce.
      Elwood enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool and watching sports of all kinds. He love to read, especially about Joseph Smith Jr. Elwood loved people, especially his family, and always had a good story to tell. He was a man of his word andred freely. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
      Surviving are his daughter Katherine Marie Dixon (Scott) Sneddon, Pleasant View; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
      Elwood is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Hunt, Clearfield; Mrs. Gerald (Myrle) Fowler, Riverdale; Mrs. Wayne (Katherine) Schofield, Orem; Mrs. Ernest (Beulah) Coublucq, Oregon House, Calif.
      He was preceded in death by two sons, William Elwood Dixon and Richard Harvey Dixon.
      Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Todd Erickson of the Pleasant View 5th Ward, officiating.
      Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday Noon to 12:45 p.m.
      Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
