  	OGDEN - Melba Georgina Roylance Morriss, 93, died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at a local care center. She was born April 1, 1909 in Pleasant View, a daughter of Alma and Ada P. Pickford Roylance. On January 9, 1929, Melba married Clarence LeRoy Morriss in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Clarence preceded her in death on November 4, 1992. She was reared and educated in the Ogden area graduating from Weber High School. As a member of the Lorin Farr 5th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Melba served as primary President for 20 years and also as a Visiting Teacher. She worked as a seamstress for Intermountain Knitting Mills and for W. T. Grant Company as a stock clerk. Melba's hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and family history research. She had a keen sense of humor throughout her life. Surviving are one son and two daughters, Duane (Faye) Morriss, Shirley Jacobs, and Betty (Dennis) McMurdie, all of Ogden; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Melba is her sister, Leona Colbert, Mesa, Ariz. She was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment Ben Lomond/North Ogden Cemetery.
