- Elsie Rowse Chamberlin
Long-time Ogden resident, Elsie Chamberlin died on January 11, 2009 in Arlington, Virginia, following a short illness. She was born December 1, 1909 to Joseph James Rowse and Jetta Butterfield Rowse. She was a graduate of Ogden High School.
She was married to Lee Chamberlin. After her children were raised she worked until age 70 at Bon Marche.
An active member of the First Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday school for more than 25 years and served as a Deacon and Elder. She was a member of Eastern Star and the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter M.
She was an avid seamstress and knitter. She loved traveling in the U.S. and abroad, especially with her children. Known for her bubbly spirit, she took joy in all people she met. After a full life in Ogden, she moved to Virginia at age 92 to be with her daughter.
Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Pat Rawson Chamberlin, Albuquerque, New Mexico; her daughter and son-in-law Judy and John Holoviak, Arlington, Virginia; two grandsons Terry and Chris Chamberlin; seven great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend Laiad. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and helpmate Lee, her brother Jack Rowse, and her sister Marion Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, 880 28th Street. Family and friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27th and on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Interment will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park.

Wedding Held In Jas. J. Rowse Home
A home wedding was celebrated Saturday evening at eight o'clock at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Rowse, 809 Twenty-third Street, when their daughter Elsie Rowse, and lee P. Cahmberlain were married, John Edward Carver performing thermony. Alto Rowse Tanner and William Chamberlain attended the young couple.
After the wedding ceremony a supper was served to a large number of relatives and friends. Mr.s and Mrs. Chamberlain will make their residence in Ogden
