    • Dwayne Milton Pace passed away at age 95 on July 12, 2016 at his home in Wanship, Utah of causes related to his advanced age. The youngest child of Ellen Harriet Tree and James Edwin Pace, he was born in Hoytsville, Utah on September 4, 1920. He grew up on a dairy farm with his siblings; Julia, Harvey, Ralph, Henry, and Angus. After graduating from North Summit High School he served a mission in southern California. After his mission he enlisted in the Navy during WWII and was mostly in the Philippines for two years. When the war ended he attended BYU where he fell in love with Joan Jensen from Huntsville, Utah. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1948. They lived in Wanship and were the parents of six children; Dennis, Loyal, Kevin, Lorna, Nolan, and Eric.

Dwayne worked as a dairy farmer in partnership with his brother, Angus. Dwayne retired from farming in 1979 at the age of fifty-nine. Dwayne and Joan went on several missions; Dulce New Mexico, Manila Philippines Temple, Atlanta Georgia Temple, Temple Square, and the Conference Center in Salt Lake. They also served for over twenty-five years in the Ogden Temple as temple ordinance workers. His daughter, Lorna, and all of his siblings have preceded him in death. Currently, Dwayne and Joan have thirty-six grandchildren and sixty-five great grandchildren.

Dwayne leaves a legacy of kindness, decency, hard work, and faith. His actions always spoke louder than his words. He loved Joan with constant devotion and she gave great care to him during his last months at their home. His whole life was spent giving to his family, church, community, and the world. God blessed him with a long and grand life. He is a noble person, a great example, and is loved by so many.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Wanship Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Wanship Cemetery.
