      Blackfoot - Daniel Horace Owen, 83, died Saturday at the home of a daughter in Blackfoot of an apparent heart attack
      He was born Sept. 13, 1897, in Ammon to Joseph H. and Mary Grow Owen.
      He married Velta Wadsworth June 1922 at Idaho Falls. They were later divorced.
      He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and received a battlefield commission to the rank of second lieutenant. He also served in the Army during World War II.
      For more than 20 years he worked as a storekeeper at the Naval Supply Depot in San Diego, Calif. He retired in 1960 due to ill health. He most recently had lived in a veterans home in Yountville, Calif. He had moved to Blackfoot just last weeo be near his daughter.
      Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Bill (June) Pexton, Blackfoot, and Mrs. Garth (Dorothy Ann) McGary, Idaho Falls, three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother Charles H. Owen, and two sisters, Louise Chapman and Louella Lamt, all of Salt Lake City,
      Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Grove City Cemetery with military rites conducted by members of the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post No. 23, Seth Taylor, commander.
      The family will receive friends at the Hill-Coltrin-Sandberg Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time for the services.
      Arangement are under the direction of the Hill-Coltrin-Sandberg Funeral Home.
