Harold Brighton to leave Firth after 47 years - bound for Montana

Firth- This small farming community will soon lose two of its prominent citizens when Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brighton move to Helena, Mont. to make their home. Harold and Bertha, as they are affectionately known by all their friends have residen Firth for 47 years.
Bertha Bright came to Idaho from Evanston, Wyo., with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dial, when she was eight years. old. She attended schools in the Shelley area. In 1927, she med Harold Brighton who had come from Salt Lake City, Utah tockfoot in 1925. In August of 1927 they were married and have since made their home in Firth.
Mrs. Brighton was a barber by trade. In his 46 years of barbering in Firth, he has cut the hair of six generations. Little boys reportedly always looked forward to having a hair cut from Mr. Brighton because they always received a nickel in cge to buy ice-cream at the corner drug store. An avid fisherman, he could swap stories with the best of anglers while he trimmed the hair of a member of the community. He sold his shop in 1972 to Beck Buen who probably got his inspiration to be a barber in the little shop he now owns.
The couple have a son and a daughter - Norman, who with his family lives in Helena, and Deanne who is now Mrs. Don Sessions. The Sessions and their family make their home in Great Falls, Mont. After the children were grown and the grandchiln were no longer nearby, Mrs. Brighton took a practical nurses course and those who now her report that for many years she has given a great deal of love and understanding to those who need her.
For 10 years she worked at State Hospital South in Blackfoot until her health forced her retirement.
The Brightons have sold their home in Firth and are planning to move to their new home before June 1. Their friends are sponsoring a farewell open house at the Grange Hall in Firth on Sunday between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. for all thosho want to wish the Brightons good luck.
