Mrs. Sarah Ann Grow Morriss, 78, widow of Joseph N. Morriss and resident of Hunter, died in a local hospital Monday at 11:25 a. m. of infirmities incident to age. Mrs. Morriss was born in Salt Lake, May 18, 1855, a daughter of Henry and Ann Elliott Grow. She was one of the oldest residents of Hunter, having lived there 57 years. She was an active member of the L. D. S. church, having served as a Relief society and temple worker. A son, Joseph A. Morriss of Salt Lake, died at his home last Monday. Mrs. Morriss is survived by six sons: Frank L. Morriss of Sandy; Alma A. Morriss of Burley, Idaho; Emitt E. and Leo N. Morriss of Salt Lake; Theodore M. Morriss of Long Beach, Cal., and Clarence N. Morriss of Compton, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. Samuel Hill of Hunter; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Scott of Salt Lake; a brother, Leo Grow of Salt Lake; 48 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and the following half-brothers and half-sisters: George Grow of California; William. Walter, Mark and Otto Grow of Salt Lake; E. P. Grow of Union; Sylvester Grow of Huntsville; Mrs. Mary Ann Worthan of Hunter; Mrs. Sally Maddy of Magna, and Mrs. Nellie Foreman of Midvale. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p. m. in the Hunter L. D. S. ward chapel. Friends may call at French room of the Deseret mortuary, 36 East Seventh South street, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and at the home in Hunter Friday prior to services. Burial will take place in the Murray City cemetery.
