Rudolph Righter son of Batholmew and Charlotte _ Righter was a house carpenter of Blockley Township, Philadelphia County and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. On 12 May 1814, he married Catharine Evans (GSP Collections, Record of Marriages 1808-1853 by Rev. Horatio Gates Jones, Pastor of Lower Merion Baptist Church, 5.) He died, intestate in 1823 or 1824. On 6 February 1824, Isaac Warner and Joseph Righter filed an inventory of his goods appraised at $61.51. Catharine Righter, widow, renounced and Samuel Stern was appointed administrator, 16 February 1824. (Montgomery County Will #13, 492) On 17 April 1826, Samuel Stearns, Administor sold a lot of 11 acres, 79 perches with messuage for $356.60. This sale was made on order of the Orphans Court, as a result of a petition showing that Catharine, widow of Rudolph did not have enought to maintain their minor children, John and Hugh (Mongomery County Deed Bood 42, 97). minor children under 14, or Rudolph Righter, John Elliot, appointed previously, having died. The Court appointed Jacob Latch. A financial statement for the guardian was filed 31 March 1849 (Montgomery County Orphans Court file #15, 337).
