Nolan Slaugh Hacking passed away on Sept. 2, 2008 in Dallas, Texas.
Nolan was born on March 3, 1942, the second son of J. Gordon Hacking and Mary Olive Slaugh Hacking. He was born in his grandmother Alien’s home in Maeser.
He received his schooling in western Colorado and also at Vernal. He graduated from Uintah High School and later attended Utah State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then graduated from San Angelo State University with a degree in journalism.
He spent his working career employed at various newspapers in Louisiana, Texas, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since his retirement he had resided at Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his four siblings, John, Susan H. Hayden, Dan, and Kathy H. Ross; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend Wayne Berry.
