Lowell G. Stallings Lowell G. Stallings EDEN - Lowell G. Stallings, 85, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 holding his sweetheart's hand. He was born in Eden, Utah to Elizabeth Ann Carver and George F. Stallings on August 8, 1919. Six adoring sisters welcomed him to the family. He worked on the family farm with his father and always had amazing energy and stamina. he graduated from Utah State University, then called the Agricultural College. On of the highlights of his life was serving an LDS mission to the Japanese people in Hawaii from 1939 to 1942. He cherished the many friends he made there. He married Margaret Grow in 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September. Lowell's Holstein dairy farm was one of the finest. After he retired from dairy farming, he raised alfalfa and barley, doing most of the irrigating himself until this past year. He loved to work and was happiest on his tractor. His flower garden and the birds that visited the fee ders in his yard were a joy to him. He loved sports, although he had little leisure time to spend on them, and he was adventuresome enough to learn to water ski at 62. He was Director of Weber Central Dairy and active in the Farm Bureau and president of the Weber County Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was Director of the Eden Irrigation Company and active in the Soil Conservation District for 10 years. He served as bishop of the Eden Ward, a high counselor in the Ogden Stake, and as a counselor in the Huntsville Utah Stake Presidency, as well as many other callings in the LDS Church. He especially enjoyed working in the Ogden Temple. We will miss his hand-dipped chocolates and eating ice cream with him. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Eden; sister Marion King of Garland. Children: George of Eden; Jan Wight (Richard), Ogden; Sharon Vause (Brad), Eden; and Sandra Jenkins (David), Eden; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five siste rs: Inez Brown, Zenia Gardner, Doris Ferrin, Ortell McKay and Lila Shupe. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Eden 1st Ward, 6450 E. 1900 No. Friends may call at the Larkin and Sons Mortuary, Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Mt.
