Julia was born in Diamondville, WY on 12/13/1910, the 9th of 11 children born to Walter Grow and Isabell Bryson.

Siblings are: Ethelyn, Walter, Cantwell, Isabell, Evelyn, Theodore, Raymond, Grace, Arlene & Karl.

She found love and married Herbert Wilcox on January 4, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She and Herbert were blessed with three children, Patricia (01/09/31) and twins Donald and Nayon (06/06/32). Donald died of pneumonia in December 1932.

The Wilcox Family left Salt Lake City in January 1938 bound for California, looking for work and hope of a better life during the depression years.

Husband Herbert found work as a custodian and professional painter. Julia also worked to support her family, counter sales and advancement to store manager with Martha Washington Candies and bookkeeper with Electrolux Corporation were some of her employment accomplishments.

Her girls Patricia and Nayon both found love and married giving her 6 grandchildren and 2 more step (though she would not have looked at it that way, family was family) grandchildren.

Julia was widowed in December 1958 and never remarried.

To support herself she worked in the import-export business and retired at the age of 78.

Soon great grandchildren (5) and great great grandchildren (2) came.

Julia enjoyed the performing arts, movies, travel, chocolate (boy did she enjoy chocolate!) and her family.

As in many lives there came a time when Julia could no longer care for herself on her own, the decision was made to sell her home of 60 years in San Francisco and move to an assisted living home in Tustin California. This is where granddaughter, Julia and her family lived, she would have someone with her always.

In Tustin Julia was treated to many new experiences, some simple like going out to dinner or driving around the neighborhood to look at the holiday lights, some extravagant like High Tea at the Ritz Carlton at Christmas time. She was happy!

Throughout her life Julia was active and faithful in the Mormon Church. Brother Karl and Bishop Mark Redman gave her a Priesthood Blessing on 01/08/2000.

She passed quietly sitting upright in a chair.

Her last wishes to be creamated and ashes released to the sea were loving carried out. I swear I heard the laughter of children welcoming her home as the ocean waters absorbed the remainder of her earthly shell, thus becoming a world traveler of eternity.

I love you Grandma, peace and blessing be with you.
