In Parsippany, Morris County, New Jersey, there lived a Jasper Righter, 1739-1794, who is said to have been born in Roxborough. He served in 1776, as a private in Captain Israel Halsey's company, eastern battalion, Morris County, New Jersey militia. He married in 1769 Elizabeth Hopler, 1749-1809.
